The Thomas P. Noonan Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic is moving to a new center at 47-01 Queens Boulevard (3rd floor) in Sunnyside, just six blocks from its current location.

The move will take place on Sept. 19 and the clinic is expected to be fully operational at the new location by Sept. 26, according to reports.

Administrators are assuring patients that the services they will receive will remain the same, and that that the move will not cause a lapse in services.

The center is named after of Thomas P. Noonan, who was killed in action in the Quang Tri Province of Vietnam in February, 1969. He was posthumously awarded the United States’ highest military distinction, the Medal of Honor, for his heroic efforts during the Vietnam War.

The park on 43rd Street, between Greenpoint and 47th Avenues is also named after him.
