Feb. 27, 2016 Staff Report

Skillman Avenue bars and restaurants are gearing up for Oscar night Sunday.

Claret Wine Bar, located at 46-02 Skillman Ave., is hosting an event starting at 7 pm dedicated to Tinseltown.

Meanwhile, the Cooper Kettle, the Globe and the Alcove are participating in a competition where residents pay $20 to cast their predictions as to who will win each movie category and be in to win a cash prize.

The winners will be determined by those picks that are the closest to the actual results.

There will be a winner at each of the three bars.

The competition is being run like a 50/50, where half the $20 entry fee will go toward the prize and the other half going to the Sunnyside Community Services Center.
