Feb. 19, 2019 By Christian Murray

Police have arrested the man wanted for raping a 20-year-old woman on Skillman Avenue, near P.S. 11, on Friday night.

Matthew Luna, 27, of 35th Street in Long Island City, was arrested Monday night on charges of rape, stalking, criminal sex act and assault, police said.

Luna, according to police sources, turned himself in.

Police say that Luna followed the victim in the vicinity of 54th Street and Skillman Avenue at around 10:40 p.m. Friday, before striking up a conversation with her. He then threw the woman against a car and then raped her, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated and released.

Police released video of him yesterday, including a clear image of him getting on the Q32 bus after the rape.

He lived in an apartment on 35th Street in Blissville. He’s been a neighborhood nuisance for years. Always panhandling & being obnoxious.

Who said he lived in a shelter though? There are penthouse owners in LIC that are rapist by the way. Not saying that he’s one but stop judging by the looks of a person.
