A new bar has opened inside The JACX high-rise office building in Long Island City.
The new establishment, called The Bar at JACX&CO, opened Thursday on the ground floor of the 26-story two-tower development located at 28-17 42nd Rd. It offers a wide range of cocktails, wines, ciders and beers.
The new bar is located inside a food hall called JACX&CO, which is situated on the southwest corner of Jackson Avenue and Queens Plaza South.
The Bar at JACX&CO is being operated by Tishman Speyer, the real estate development company that owns The JACX.
The new establishment, operators say, is open to residents, office workers and customers visiting the expansive food hall, which is around 11,000 square feet.
“We love our vibrant neighborhood and aim to be a true community hub,” said Shana Watts, general manager of JACX&CO.
The bar features a C-shaped counter that has around 20 bar stools. The bar is accessible to all users of the food hall, which seats more than 200 people in total. The JACX&CO food hall houses a number of restaurants and a café.
The Bar at JACX&CO specializes in cocktails and craft beers made by local brewers.
For instance, there is a cocktail called Sunnyside, which contains gin, fresh lime juice and mint while the Tale of 2 Cities consists of aged rum shaken with apricot liqueur, simple syrup, fresh lime juice and orange bitters. Another cocktail called the Highlander is made with Japanese whisky, simple syrup and bitters.
The bar offers beverages produced by LIC Beer Project, located 39-28 23rd St. in Dutch Kills, and the Bronx Brewery in the Bronx. Its cider comes from Graft brewers in the Hudson Valley.
Wine options include red, white, sparkling, and rosé.
The operators plan on hosting trivia and comedy events at the bar in the near future.
To celebrate the opening, the bar will offer happy hour deals on weekdays from Mar. 7 through April 1. Customers can grab two complimentary light bites from any vendor at the food hall between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.
Some of the vendors operating at the food hall include Beebe’s, a Dutch Kills-based pizza joint; Méxology, a traditional Mexican food restaurant; Lotus + Cleaver, a Chinese eatery; Taïm, an Israeli vegetarian establishment; Ghaya, a café; Biao Sugar, a bubble tea shop; and Temakase, which specializes in sushi rolls.
The Bar at JACX&CO opens from noon to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and from noon to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
