Man Attacks Two People as They Were Entering Their Sunnyside Apartment Building: NYPD

Suspect (NYPD)

Oct. 7, 2020 By Christian Murray

The police are looking for a man who punched and kicked two people as they were entering their Sunnyside apartment Monday before stealing their personal belongings.

The suspect allegedly followed the victims—a 50-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman—into a residential building in the vicinity of 44th Street and 43rd Avenue at around 8:20 p.m. before attacking them.

The man then grabbed the woman’s purse that contained a cellphone, credit cards and personal items before fleeing northbound on 44th Street on an E-bike.

The victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect is described as being approximately 40 years of age, with a medium build and bald. He was last seen wearing dark colored clothing.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Gentrifiers ? Sunnyside never needed gentrification. Kindly look up the meaning of the word. Sunnyside never needed beautification, I know I’ve been here since the. 1950’s. Do you have this reaction when a crime occurs in Scarsdale, Great Neck or the Upper East Side?

Some of these Sunnyside residents are too naive and idealistic. Proudly putting their BLM flags outside their windows to show how progressive and virtuous they are. Truth is we need the police now more than ever, and the real oppressors to PoCs and BLM is their own, self-victimizing, mentality. Theres no need to rob others and take to the streets to burn things down. Just keep defunding the police and put up your little flags to keep you safe!

Yeah and if caught will be re-released next day and they can’t even place a detainer on him if undocumented alien because NYPD can’t report him to ICE – looks like a Fat-Head to me — so the criminals have more rights the victims – if the victim would have pull a gin on him to defend himself – he would have been jailed — we live in a Santuary city, enough already. Blame the politicians and Jimmy Van Bramer who has done nothing for this community other the occasional photo-op. I’m a life long democrat but you have to wonder why the rise in power of the likes of Donald J. Trump.

You DO realize that blazzzzio

Wants this to be a sanctuary city, right???

It doesn’t matter what your ridiculous ‘document’ says, he’s pushing for it to be a sanctuary city. At least in his eyes.

Lets see what is done, if they catch him! Our justice system is becoming a joke…..sorry to say. As a former New Yorker it breaks my heart to see what is happening there. I think the Govenor and Mayor need to do something… I know we are having problems in every state but this is HAPPENING WORSE BECAUSE IT SEEMS PEOPLE AREN’T STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE! ?

I absolutely agree, Mac. This was a mugging, perpetrated by a lazy, good for nothing. It has NOTHING to do with BLM or defunding police or police ticketing people not wearing masks which, BTW, is breaking a government mandate. We all must remember to be aware of those around us. Leave politics out if it.

That’s right Mac, NYPD will catch him and then he will immediately be released. What’s the point?

Nothing to see, let’s move on. Defunding the police was a great idea! Maybe the BLM supporters who lots of free time on their hands can find the culprit after they give him warm milk and cookies.

The police haven’t be defunded by one dollar yet

You’ll need to wait a couple months before you blame every crime in the city on that ? it will be a lot less embarassing

but 100o’s have been released from jail and NO BAIL. SO the incentive to act up is all around. Also the hate and blatant attacks on police are acceptable now. Police can’t do their jobs.

I agreed, NYPD haven't been defunded at all

This crime would NEVER have been eligible for bail reform or early release. NYPD still won’t do their jobs though.

Would Trump lovers be so offended if they weren’t always wrong?

This is so pathetic that you cant even enter into your home without being attacked ! Queens is getting worse by the minute. Keep filling the hotels up with homeless . Time to move out of NY

Francine – It’s still an exaggeration. There was crime 100 years ago 50 years ago 25 years ago and today. Crime is far from rampant. I hope I’m not attacked and hope you’re not attacked as well but I’m not going to run around and get hysterical over it. Hysteria has never solved anything however precautions and being aware of what is going on around you does.

Depends on the neighborhood. North eastern queens is just fine. You guys elect progressive/socialists so the city keeps converting hotels into shelters knowing their will be less resistance and criminals feel like they can easily rob, harass, steal, etc in neighborhoods like western queens. I told my sister to sell years ago but she didnt and now she lives in fear. Good luck if caban gets elected in astoria.
