The police are looking for a man who made a number of anti-Asian statements towards a 35-year-old woman yesterday while she was on a 7 train near the Main Street Flushing station.
The victim was subjected to the racist taunts while she was sitting across from the alleged bigot while the train was near Roosevelt Avenue and Willets Point Boulevard at around 11:30 a.m.
The woman then received a phone call and began speaking in her native language, leading to more racist rhetoric.
The victim then started to record the encounter at which point the suspect slapped her Samsung S9 cellphone out of her hand damaging the screen. He then picked up the phone and smashed it to the ground causing further damage.
The woman, in fear of her safety, picked up her phone and fled to another train car.
The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident. The police released a video of the suspect.
The suspect is described as being of dark complexion, approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing multi-colored camouflage overalls, yellow Nike sneakers and a green hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, or on Twitter @NYPDTips.

Maybe someone on social media will find out who he is. I hope he loses his job.
?????????
Darned white supremacists!
Agreed, we’ve seen a spike in anti-Asian hate crimes since Trump called it the “Kung flu.” This is another sad example.
Again, as I have said in other comments, put this kind of thug away for 30+ and we’ll quickly have a safer city.
Too harsh? Don’t think so, as kids say, he’s started it.
