A 39-year-old woman suffered a broken jaw after she was randomly punched in the face while riding the 7 train in Long Island City earlier this month, police announced Tuesday.

The woman, police said, was riding a Manhattan-bound 7 train as it approached the Hunters Point Avenue subway station on June 12 at around 2:10 a.m. when a man approached her and slugged her in the face for no apparent reason.

The suspect then got off the train when it stopped at the station and fled.

The woman was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals / Bellevue in stable condition and was treated for a broken jaw.

It is unclear whether the woman was standing or sitting down when she was hit. Police say the suspect shouted at her before he allegedly struck her. Police do not know what the man said since the victim only speaks Spanish and did not understand what he was saying.

Police released an image Tuesday of the man wanted for questioning in relation to the attack.

The man is described as being dark-skinned, about 6 feet tall and between 25 and 30 years of age. He is believed to weigh about 160 pounds and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, or on Twitter @NYPDTips.

It’s a joke. Obviously it’s deranged, dangerous black man.
Blacks are 13% of the US population and commit 90% of the crimes. Before you scream racism you should know that the majority of their victims are black.

That’s how I point out the culprits are, the opposite of the color white). They Amish doing Amish things because they’re Amish.

It’s not politically correct to describe criminals as Black. Dark skinned will do. We don’t want to hurt anyones feelings.

My gosh Samantha is so out of touch. I can’t believe she’s actually sympathetic to the criminal! Having a jaw broken is likely incredibly painful and will be for months if not longer. The punk that did this isn’t the victim. He’s an insensitive jerk who should spend 5-10 years in prison for intending to hurt an innocent victim. The fact that he punched a woman shows he’s a coward as well. I can’t believe some people actually feel the way Samatha does. The even sadder thing is when he is caught he’ll get a slap on the wrist then feel even more emboldened do punch another woman. Maybe an old woman if he hasn’t already.

Another victim of systematic racism and neglect. Hope he gets the services and help he deserves. Speedy recovery to the victim. Happy 4th everyone!

It was the victims fault. He should not be put in jail because he’s Black. Unjust legal system, mass incarceration. Let him out. Close Rikers, close all jails. Maybe we can convince them to be better citizens. Has anyone ever tried?

How was it the victim’s fault? You are out of your mind. Learn the meaning of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. People have had all kinds of things happen to them growing up and they don’t go around assaulting people.

Even before the pandemic, lots of mentally I’ll people. They would just walk up to people for no reason and ridicule the person or yell or in some cases act violently. They talk to themselves and most are harmless but some are violent.

I think we need to use the Supreme Court’s ruling on the right to carry to our advantage. It’s the only way to protect our families.

Fox News and Murdochs need to charged criminally

Yes, the removal of crossing guards and school safety officers from the NYPD budget ($350 Million in savings or some say cut) and $200 Million cut in civilian overtime caused this.

Open your window if you want a reality check

I’m sure where you live (I highly doubt in Queens), the crime rate is 0.0%, the sky is always sunny, the grass is always green and perfectly cut, and the birds are always chirping, but stand on the corner of any block on Northern or Queens Blvd, and I bet you’ll either hear a siren, loud music, or illegal dirt bikes on the street. Thanks to liberal and progressive Democrats in office.

Open your windows- I live right in Sunnyside for the past 69 years. If you’re that fearful and afraid you should move. It’s not expensive to get a place in the Poconos. Queens is probably not for you.

Open – Your description of where your opposing comment author lives sounds like a description of the Republican garden of Eden’s like South Carolina , Oklahoma and Louisiana, the highest crime states in the nation according to FBI statistics.

City Council passes bill shifting broker fee burden to landlords, sparking backlash from real estate industry and key critics

Nov. 14, 2024 By Ethan Stark-Miller and QNS News Team

The New York City Council passed a landmark bill on Wednesday, aiming to relieve renters of paying hefty broker fees — a cost that will now fall on the party who hires the listing agent. Known as the FARE Act (Fairness in Apartment Rentals), the legislation passed with a veto-proof majority of 42-8, despite opposition from Republicans and conservative Democrats.
