A white woman threw a glass bottle at a black jogger in Woodside last month and then shouted a racial slur at her, police said.
The police released video footage of the incident today that shows a white woman hurling a bottle at a 37-year-old black woman while she was running near the northeast corner of 53rd Place and Broadway on Aug. 17 at around midday.
The black woman can be seen jumping in the air to avoid the bottle. She turns her head back toward her blonde-haired attacker but continues to jog on.
The suspect yelled at her and said “get out of here n—-r,” according to the New York Daily News.
Police said the victim did not sustain any injuries and the incident is being investigated as a hate crime by the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force.
The white woman is described as being in her 40’s and is around 5 feet and 5 inches tall.
She has a light complexion with blue eyes, long blonde hair and weighs around 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a black tank-top and white shorts.

Per the NYPost, Lorena Delaguna, 53, was arrested today (9/21) at her home and charged with attempted assault and aggravated assault as a hate crime.

First of all, this women is not white. Shes a Colombian lady who is always in that area near staples and I’ve seen her on northern blvd a couple of times. This is a racist attack but ive seen people call this white supremacy when they dont even know for sure that shes white. I hope this comment get seen by police because that lady is always there and if they dont have her already or find her soon they aren’t looking at all.
You can call crime stoppers and report where you seen her in the past or currently. She needs help. She could of seriously injured the jogger physically. She already caused emotional trauma. We need to report threatening and harassing behavior when we see it. It can always escalate. Even though the protesters are given a pass to scream harass and intimidate cops and citizens…it still should be reported. Most cops will not do anything about it unless there is injury but we need to let these people know we will not put up with it. Complaining on social media is helpful. Im tired of being harassed in our neighborhood by others.

I have witnessed people getting verbally harassed from people who seem homeless, mentally ill or drug addicted often in NYC. Just like the other day in Astoria. One homeless woman started randomly cursing at people including children as they walked by. But most pedistrains tend to walk away and try to ignore them. Recording or talking back to to them is fearful. I can understand why the jogger simply jogged away. Perhaps she sensed the woman was not in her right mind.
According to channel 7 news, the jogger is not from the neighborhood and has not went back since the incident. The reporter claims that the jogger “spotted it (the video) on social media a couple of days ago and went to the police knowing she had proof”. The jogger now has support from groups like “Black Girls Run.”
Why was it being recorded before an incident took place?????

I watched the full video online with sound. I agree that something made the people film her before the incident. perhaps she was acting erratically and they started recording. Before the attack the recorder was speaking in Spanish to a friend and i do not know what they said. I did not watch the tv news footage. I watched a private user upload named “Crazed Karen hurls a glass bottle at a black jogger running on her block” on yt. I hope someone turns her in.
You don’t go throwing a bottle at someone at random because you don’t have money for food. Or because you are frustrated. She was clearly unhinged. Police should search for her and arrest her, the same way BLM rioters and looters should be searched for and arrested when they too commit violent or otherwise criminal acts. Manhattan developers have hired blacks to rally to shut down Rikers, so they can develop it. So naturally, when unusual things like this occur, one thinks about the logical cause.

My lovely neighbor is whatever word is currently acceptable for nonwhite people of African origin.
I did not even mention the uptick in crime that is happening in this area, that has accompanied the unusual oddities of non residents trooping through.
Nor did I mention the sudden appearance of young non-residents driving through with their radios blasting and car windows down, and that they sit in our shopping areas blasting their car radios.
Residents here are feeling as though they are under assault.
