Video: Man Shot During Wild Shootout on Astoria Street

July 28, 2022 By Christian Murray

A gunfight erupted near the corner of 41st Street and Astoria Boulevard South during the early hours Monday morning leaving a man injured with a gunshot wound to the stomach, according to police.

The wild shoot out took place after a group of individuals gathered in front of 24-04 41st St. at around 1:40 a.m. and a verbal dispute broke out.

Police said one of the men in the dispute pointed his firearm at another individual and was shot in the stomach in response.

The gunshot victim passed his handgun to another man who then shot in the direction of the individual who inflicted the wound. The man is caught on video running down the sidewalk and firing his gun at the individual who did the initial shooting.

All of the individuals in the group are seen fleeing the scene, with one of the shooters seen jumping into a red Dodge Charger, police said.

Police released photos and videos of the two shooters. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

The NYPD did not have any information as to the condition of the man shot. However, the NY Daily News reported that the shooting victim went to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital for treatment and was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Police are looking for two men involved in a wild shootout in Astoria during the early hours Monday morning. One suspect (left) is wanted for shooting a man in the stomach, while another man (right) is wanted for firing his weapon as part of the shootout (NYPD).

Big penalties for carrying guns?

You’re proposing the police can stop anyone for any reason and be penalized for carrying a gun? Why do you hate the 2nd Amendment?

Second Amendment to the United States Constitution“ A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. ”This second amendment ? Where does it say an “individual “ has a right to carry a gun?

Guns should be easy to get!

See, if only MORE people had guns it would be impossible for this to happen because…

Tax the rich! Release low felony inmates! Keep bail reform as is! Defund the police! Get rid of under cover cops! Assign cops to desk jobs and stop them from targeting blk and brn communities! Keep Nyc a sanctuary city. Build community jails! Raise minimum age to be tried as an adult to 21! That will save the working class…since they cant afford a doorman and private security.

Light skinned dude deserves a longer sentence. Dark skinned dude deserves probation and money to get a cosmetology license. He got some good hair skills.

In addition to high quality masks CDC should recommend we wear bullet proof vests.

As long as innocent by standers are not hurt i no longer care. Its a daily occurrence in Nyc. Many folks are just getting used to it. Shootings in Astoria are the new norm. Enjoy the summer weather.

dont like gun crime

well a little stop and frisk (with arrests only for weapons and not drugs) + big penalties for carrying guns which hit immediately – like go directly to jail would probably over time help …. and that stopping is on liberals lack of common sense (republicans also do incredibly stupid stuff but its both sides) – stop and frisk all young people between about 14 and 30) do it based on neighborhoods where there are shootings
