Police are searching for a group of suspects who raided a car dealership in Elmhurst overnight Sunday and made off with more than two dozen vehicles.

The alleged thieves stole 26 vehicles from Carsiri Queens, located at 74-38 Queens Blvd, having broken into the premises some time between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday, police said.

The suspects cracked the lock of the front gate and then grabbed the keys to each of the stolen vehicles from inside an office at the location, the NYPD said.

They allegedly stole a variety of vehicles, including Hondas, Fords, Chevrolets, Audis and Hyundais, police said. The stolen vehicles were mostly 2018 and 2019 models, the NYPD said.

Police said that each suspect drove multiple vehicles off the lot to complete the heist. Police did not say how many suspects were part of the crew.

The stolen vehicles were noticed missing when workers at the dealership opened up for business Monday, police said.

The theft comes about three weeks after a similar heist was pulled off at a car dealership in Jamaica.

Thieves stole 20 luxury cars from 156-02 Liberty Ave. after breaking the lock on the gate and driving off with BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes and Audis, police said. Two of the stolen vehicles were later recovered.

Police did not say if the two incidents were linked.

At least the liberals aren’t stupid enough to vote for candidates that will deploy policies that have been implemented by the states with highest crime rates in America like Mississippi Oklahoma and Texas. Yes Texas is 11th in crime according to FBI statistics and insurance analysis. Move there if you love Republican policy so much.

The list on top above sunnysiders list is incomplete. Many states on it it only have partial submitted. I googled and found the survey. It states within the article as much as 40% of crime data for some states was not available.

Baby You Can Drive My Car...

Those cars were chopped up a few hours later, no doubt.

The lot owner could have locked up and hid the keys a bit better IMHO.

Sounds like an inside job. Take a look at all the surveillance video and release them to the public. Somebody’s bound to recognize their clothing.

The thieves of this city continue to pillage thanks to the politicians, DA’s at large. Given the results of the election, everyone should expect much the same for the next 4 years.

Keep imagining – Grow up you lost. The Governor never said that. Crime is higher in Republican states (urban and rural). Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alaska and Texas are all in top 10 states with the highest crime rates according to FBI statistics and insurance statistics. Google it.

Please shutdown the welfare hotels. They are endangering us.

The bums sit in the old Mets Motel and watch. There are dozens of guys in there 20’s and 30’s who hang around the old Nets Motel all day long. They just arrested 2 fugitives in 2019 at the old Mets Motel Police arrested Khyrel Ware, 21, of Long Island City, and Luis Martinez, 19, of Astoria, and charged them with multiple counts of robbery.
The pair were found by chance at the Metro Motel, located at 73-00 Queens Blvd. The police were searching for a man with an outstanding warrant when they came across the men and nabbed them.

The duo had robbed seven residents within the confines of Astoria and Woodside between February and April, police said. They armed with knives and guns.

Many of the homeless people living at nearby shelters drive their own vehicles or ride mass transit for free. No need for them to steal vehicles.

This comment is idiotic.

If they had a car already (you’d be surprised how much insane stuff homeless people have) they wouldn’t need to steal another one. Or 27 of them.
