July 5, 2018 By Nathaly Pesantez

The site of a recently-shuttered taco joint in Sunnyside will be replaced with a completely new Mexican eatery at the end of this month.

Taco Today, the name of the upcoming spot, is opening at 42-22 Greenpoint Avenue, and will offer typical Mexican fast food fare including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and more—all under $10.

The new locale replaces Sunnyside Taco, which quietly closed a few months ago.

Taco Today will open from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and will open at 12 p.m. on Sundays.

I used to get soft tacos at this place all the time- they were delicious!

This location is very close to Mr. Burrito, Sante Fe Taqueria, De Mole and The Haab. I hope there has been consideration on the competition and how to add value in a crowded market.

Welcome to the Greenpoint Avenue community. Word to the wise: The key to a successful food establishment on Greenpoint Avenue is advertising, and plenty of it, on the pages of the Sunnyside Post, the Long Island City Post, the Greenpoint Post and the NY Post.

I wish her much success. A successful immigrant is a Trumpeter’s worst nightmare.

A Mexican taco joint operated and owned by a Chinese woman who immigrated to the USA 15 years ago. A example of hard work, determination and woman owned business at that. Only in New York folks, only in New York can we see the great experiment in action that is the United States of America. If affordable, good quality and clean they will do nicely on Greenpoint Ave.

The only ones who benefit by immigration are immigrants. I can do without another cheap taco joint.

Hopefully, you are aware of the fact that without a status, she wouldn’t have been able to obtain the contract successfully! You’re exposing your ignorance by making such a comment 🙁
