A neighborhood Chinese take-out spot has been temporarily shut down by the health department.
New Szechuan House, located at 50-08 Skillman Ave., is closed after an April 24 Department of Health inspection that revealed several critical sanitary violations.
Among the violations are evidence of mice or live mice present in the eatery’s food or non-food areas, inadequate personal cleanliness, and raw, cooked or prepared food either being contaminated or not discard properly.
The locale offers typical Chinese take-out fare, including soups, fried rice varieties, and platters.
Full list of violations:
1) Raw, cooked or prepared food is adulterated, contaminated, cross-contaminated, or not discarded in accordance with HACCP plan.
2) Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
3) Personal cleanliness inadequate. Outer garment soiled with possible contaminant. Effective hair restraint not worn in an area where food is prepared.
4) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.

The food is horrible, the place filthy, and the deranged delivery guy is really bad. A real crazy. I ordered food , it came and I tip mr crazy. I looked at the food and most of it I didn’t order. I called and said come pick it up I want my money back. Owner was nice, apologized and sent crazy back with the money. I said I want the money back , keep the tip. Crazy starts yelling you open this, I no pay you back for this . I explain, I had to open it to see what’s in there. No no no , I no pay , I say let me call your boss. The boss get on phone and says give me my money. He starts screaming in Chinese at his boss and spits on his cell phone and hangs up. He gives me the money finally. I said now for giving me a hard time give me the $5 tip back . He almost wanted to fight , he went crazy. I said I’ll call your boss again. He gets off phone with his boss and gives me $2, with that I take his scooter and said I give you scooter when you give me my money. After 20 mins I said give me the money or I have you arrested and I’m calling immigration. He gave me the money in 2 seconds and left. 2 days later I hear a bottle break in front. It was the kamikaze scooter nut . Stay clear.

typical lazy hipster that cant walk a few blocks to pick up his own food, yet complains about $5, because the filthy chinese foood place is not up to par with a 5 star restaurant. hysterical! i’ve eaten from this place numerous times. the food is really good. the mapo tofu and garlic eggplant are excellent.
That’s why your al bundy, an idiot with no taste for good food. I’m not a hipster but a 35 year resident. The guy is nuts and the place is filthy. Yes, the food is disgusting but you wouldn’t know better. It’s not the $5 which is a good tip on a $20 delivery. The guy is a pig, and he was beyond rude. I offered to let him keep the tip, but when he refused to return my money for the food that was being returned, and his boss ordered him too. He was going to pocket the money his boss said to return, are you really this stupid al?

Do they notify before inspection? If they don’t most of this type of places shouldn’t be able to pass any inspection.
