Police are searching for an unidentified man who backed an SUV into an 82-year-old woman in Woodside last month before fleeing from the scene.

The man was backing up his Acura SUV on 57th Street when he struck the 82-year-old as she was crossing Woodside Avenue at around 1 p.m. on Sept. 1, police say.

The woman was knocked to the pavement and suffered injuries to her face and left hand. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

The driver, meanwhile, fled westbound on 57th Street and did not report the incident.

The suspect is described as Asian, in his mid-40s, and with black hair. He was also wearing black pants and a white shirt.

The site of the incident has proven dangerous in the past, when the driver of an SUV fatally struck an 83-year-old woman earlier this year as she walked on Woodside Avenue and tried to cross 57th Street.

The driver, on Woodside Avenue, struck her while turning onto 57th Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Submit tips via WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, on Twitter @NYPDTips or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.

I heard he backed right over crushing her ribs and legs and then cursing at her for ruining one of his tires.

Twenty people indicted in Queens-based $4.6M vehicle theft ring after three-year probe: DA

Twenty individuals were indicted and variously charged in a wide-ranging scheme to steal cars in Queens, throughout New York City and its suburbs, following a three-year investigation by the Queens District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD, and the New York State Police dubbed “Operation Hellcat,” into the criminal enterprise based in Queens.

Some of the vehicles were stolen from owners’ driveways, some with the keys or key fobs inside. The stolen vehicles were often sold through advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The defendants are charged in nine separate indictments for a total of 373 counts, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced on Thursday.
