About 80 people gathered Saturday June 4 to pay homage to the late Claire Kraft for her years of community service. Kraft’s family and friends were joined by public officials who unveiled a street sign in her honor at the place where she had lived: 45th Street (by 48th Ave.)

Before passing away in 2002, Kraft worked tirelessly to build a stronger community as member of St. Teresa’s Parish Council, St. Teresa’s Rosary Society, Gateway Community Restoration, Woodside Republican Club, Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce, 108th Community Council and the United Forties Civic Association.

Claire was a beautiful woman. She loved children. RIP. I wish I had seen her more before she left us.
