A Queens handyman who is accused of stabbing a Forest Hills mother to death was arraigned Tuesday on a 13-count indictment.

David Bonola, 44, has been indicted for murder and an array of other charges for killing Orsolya Gaal, 51, and then putting her mutilated body in a sports bag and dumping it on Metropolitan Avenue near Union Turnpike on Saturday, April 16.

“This heinous murder left two teenagers without a mother and terrified an entire community,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz in a statement.

Bonola, of 114th Street in South Richmond Hill, has been charged with two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of burglary, concealment of a human corpse, tampering with evidence and criminal possession of a weapon. He faces up to 25-years-to-life in prison if convicted.

According to the charges, Gaal had been out socializing on a Friday night and returned to her Juno Street home at around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday April 16.

Bonola, who had been in an on-and-off relationship with Gaal for about two years, arrived at her home soon after. He allegedly got into an argument with her in the basement before slashing her in the throat and stabbing her more than 50 times.

The handyman then stuffed her body in a hockey bag that belonged to one of her two sons. He is then seen on video surveillance from a nearby home dragging the bag through the neighborhood.

The bag was discovered at around 8 a.m. Saturday by a man walking his dog. Inside were Gaal’s remains. Police followed a trail of blood back to Gaal’s Juno Street home.

During the investigation, police recovered a knife—believed to be the murder weapon—inside Bonola’s home. They also found Bonola’s jacket inside Forest Park, near where the body was dumped.

Prosecutors say that he confessed to the stabbing and moving her body.

Bonola has been ordered to return to court on July 7.

Shame her son didn’t wake up. Maybe the outcome would have been different.
