Two weeks ago the police announced that a Sunnyside baby girl was found dead in her parents’ apartment and declared it a homicide.

Since then, the police have not released any new information.

The NYPD and the Queens District Attorney’s Office both said today that they have no new updates on the case, despite almost two weeks of investigation.

Alaia Baque, a five-month-old infant, was found by police around 8 am on July 30th at 39-20 Greenpoint Avenue. She was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at Elmhurst Hospital.

Baque sustained at least eight skull fractures and a bruise on the back of her head.

Police questioned both of Baque’s parents, Jorge Baque and Yesenia Sasso, though no arrests have been made.

The parents claimed that Baque suffered the injuries during a ritual to rid her of the “evil eye,” though the true cause is still unknown.

Stop letting these people in this country. Change the statue of liberty to we dont want your poor, your sick, all we get is useless criminals. We are developing into a 3rd world country

Ignorant people believing in myths fairy tales and superstition must be educated in order for a modern society to function properly.

You mean like religion? Born from virgins, rising from the dead and turning coke into pepsi kinda stuff?

Well, society allows the brutal non-consensual mutilation of babies. . . Yes, educate and ban this kind of ritual barbarity.

“Ritual to get rid of evil eye”. I cannot believe this, although I know parents can go to extreme lengths and take unbelievable measures to heal their sick children. We don’t know if this poor kid was sick or had some kind of conditions where parents got some kind of suggestion and tried that. I am not sure but I would love to hear more about this case and god rest this poor kids soul. Parents might be really devastated but once again we don’t know exactly what happened.
