Pitbull’s much-anticipated performance on the Long Island City waterfront Thursday has been moved to a venue outside of Queens, according to several well-placed sources.

The internationally acclaimed rapper and singer was scheduled to take the stage at Hunters Point South Park Thursday as part of a pre-taping gig for the Macy’s July 4th celebration. The event, however, has been moved and it is not clear as to why.

The Queens Post reached out to NBC and Macy’s for comment but has yet to receive a response.

Multiple Queens Post sources say the location of the gig has been switched.

Frank Ottomanelli, who has taken over the outdoor café on the waterfront at Hunters Point South Park, said he got a call from an NBC representative Sunday who told him that the Pitbull concert has been moved to a venue somewhere in Manhattan.

Ottomanelli’s establishment, long known as LIC Landing, was going to cater Thursday’s event.

The ticket provider Iota has taken down Queens as a venue for the gig on its website. The current venue is listed as “TBD” (to be determined), although the time and date remain the same.

The Pitbull gig was expected to run along similar lines to a pre-recording gig played by Coldplay at the waterfront 12 months ago. The pre-recording, which was taped for Macy’s 2021 July 4th broadcast, drew thousands of spectators to the waterfront and ended with a fireworks display that very same night.

Thx for letting us know. My friends visiting from Idaho are really bummed out about not seeing Pitbull perform live. I am planning on bringing them to the One Love Pride Beer Festival at Alewife Brewery and Taproom in Sunnyside this Saturday!! Hopefully everyone that was planning on going to the pitbull event just comes celebrate pride in Queer Friendly Sunnyside.

Maybe it had something to do with the 114th precinct not wanting to monitor it. Astoria has enough shootings and crime to worry about. My sisters neighbors home in Astoria was burglarized last week and the homeless encampments are back at Ditmars.

Music is a lot like a piece of candy. You can enjoy it after you throw away the wrapper.
