July 18, 2010 Staff Report

The 2,000 sqf retail space, once the home of Nelsons Christmas Shoppe (spelling is correct), is expected to open in late August as a farmers market. The name of the new store will be Orchard Farmers Market, located at 42-24 Greenpoint Ave.

Co owner, Okan Yuksel, who was renovating the store with his co-owner Sunday, said that it would contain items such as fresh fish, sushi and pastries.

He said on 43rd street (in front of the store–and across the road from the Sunnyside library), the store will be selling fresh produce.

These actions have collectively undermined public safety and constrained law enforcement effectiveness.
