A man who was found dead inside a hotel room at the LaQuinta Inn on Queens Boulevard Friday committed suicide, according to police.

The police responded to a 911 call at around 2:20 p.m. Friday that a 31-year-old man was unconscious and unresponsive in a hotel room at the 37-18 Queens Blvd. establishment. The man, police said, had slash wounds to his neck and was lying on the bed.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police discovered a suicide note on the scene and found that the man had been googling how to commit suicide and how to slit a throat, according to the 108 Police Precinct.

The investigation, however, remains ongoing.

Not enough Crom mentions around here.

Why pray to the Four Winds when Crom sits, strong on his mountain? Crom laughs at the Four Winds.

July 11 is Sunnyside Day at Citi Field. Are you kidding me? Who wants to go see the loser Mets? The seats look good. Maybe you can catch a home run hit off of a Mets pitcher! That’s enough to make me slit my throat!

Last night I met 4 young guys from the Netherlands at the Wendy’s on QB who we’re staying at this La Quinta. I’ve met other tourists at Court Yard, NY Eats and Side Tracks who we’re staying at this hotel, all in the last few months.

“God” had nothing to do with it. He’s resting now because he slashed his own throat.

Can Queens’ food scene thrive with both trucks and restaurants?

Aug. 19, 2025 By Jessica Militello

In Jackson Heights at 4 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon, Roosevelt Avenue is buzzing with energy as commuters file in and out of subway cars and onto the street and cars and trucks grapple to get down the busy road. The street is filled with rows of shops and restaurants, along with food carts, street vendors and food trucks along the avenue. The almost-but-not-quite the weekend lag leaves hungry commuters faced with another choice to make throughout their day and the array of food truck options in busy areas like Jackson Heights offers customers convenience and delicious food without breaking the bank, two features that can feel vital, particularly with rising costs of living and pressure from inflation.
