An MTA bus driver was slashed in the stomach on Thursday morning and the suspect has been charged, according to police.
58-year-old George Seger was returning to his bus to start his shift after getting a coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts around 3:45 a.m. when the suspect approached him and slashed him in the stomach.
He had parked the bus near Queens Boulevard and 69th Street.
After attacking him, the suspect then demanded that he call the police.
Seger was taken to Elmhurst hospital in stable condition, was treated with 11 stitches for the gash on his stomach and was released.
Police apprehended 48-year-old Carlos Lema of Queens at the scene, and have since charged him with assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and disorderly conduct.

But it is Asians as well causing trouble. Go at night around Sean Ogs (60th street and Woodside Ave.), they hang there and jump out of cars to beat your brains in. I know, I was a victim and the 108 precinct did nothing since they hang there for lunch, brunch, drinks and whatever else.
Probably south east asians then, same sh*t. This is third world behavior.
Observing economics- get real. I dont see people from india doing this, dont see asian, not people from Europe,its Hispanics and its a fact so stop the bs. Its not racist,its fact. Stop being delusional and see it for what it is.

It would be nice if we had a name since there is criminal attacker, not just a “suspect” at this stage, so we can go check out and gather our own information from the court system since SSP is not really following up on most of these crimes/incidents. Hey, we can’t complain, at least we get SOME information about what’s happening around us.

That’s the third or fourth violent incident along 69th street in the last few weeks. Something has to be done with the day laborers and element from Queens Blvd to Broadway, this is ridiculous and has been ongoing for far too long. Where is the 108th? They have no presence on this side of Woodside.
Van Bramer wants to re-build Hart Playground…how about cleaning the dirt off 69th street before this? For all the good men looking for work, there are many more that are just there to drink and loiter.

I agree Van Bramer doesn’t give a damn about this area of Woodside,I’ve been to his office with issues in this neighborhood,even with video,and it justs keeps getting worse.
Carlos lema, i guess we are racist if we ask why all these assault/rape attempts/robberies are committed by Hispanics. This area is ruined.
Because it reflects the demographic of the neighborhood. This makes people think something is wrong with hispanics. That is not the issue but people who have difficulty seeing subtlety and nuance prefer to see in black and white. It makes it an easy race issue.

Look to economics to answer the question. If it were a predominantly white neighborhood with the same economic status, I’d be white people committing these crimes.

Nobody wants to blame the real culprit. Poverty and the elimination of the middle class. The rents south of Qns Blvd are suited to those that cannot afford manhattan or the north side of the Blvd. Therefore, there is more of one ethnic group that basically runs the restaurant industry and does all the shit jobs that white more privileged people won’t. White people from Texas or North Dakota don’t come to NYC to work in a deli mopping floors and making coffee.

Economics is not the issue. Its simply overtime, immigrants with different cultures and customs come here, and settle with their same cultures, customs, attitudes and behaviors. This country allows this to happen. So go into Woodside, Jackson Heights, Corona etc and take a look at the country in which they came, and you will notice the similarities. It has now become that country, with American benifits.

Observing economics- Hispanics still commit a disproportionate amount of crime even for the area. In the last US census Woodside is about a third white a third Asian and a third Hispanic with Hispanic the fastest shrinking of the three groups. Since illegals aren’t counted in the US census we don’t have an accurate count of the actual populous. According to your post I would at least expect to see Asians and whites committing more of these crimes and that is just not the case. Sounds like something maybe wrong with this group.
Please explain how poverty causes the large number of sexual assaults commited by certain groups.

Despite these hard working MTA bus operators are protected under state law and more than half of the entire bus fleet have security cameras, their dignity, their safety and their lives are always at risk.
