In the summer they frequently set up their nets and then go to work, leaving them there all day to ‘claim’ space for later on, making those areas of the park useless.

Sad that this guy attempted to take his own life. Can I just say regarding the soccer / volleyball players, I could care less that they play there, but the children playing with THEIR balls should come first. These adult men go down to the field and just commandeer the entire field for the entire day.

Typical OM, finds a way to, once again, spread false info.

The comment b4 mine was you saying that more people need to observe the pick up the poo signs in our ‘hood. True, I agree.

My comment was in direct response to that: “They should make one of those signs with a soccer/volleyball player on it as well. Also, a few signs for folks who toss trash on our sidewalks, break bottles, expectorate everywhere, leave car parts, urine jugs, etc etc etc.”

Notice a theme, all people who are littering in one way or another in our ‘hood. In the case of soccer/volleyball players, urine/feces. That’s what I meant. It had zero to do with not allowing them in the park, or to play their games. Amazing what a fool you can be. I see signs of intelligence from time to time and then, I guess 86mets was right, the dimentia kicks in?

As for knowing where to find you, I was implying you are a bit of a nut, just like the homophobes with their disgusting signs during the parade are nuts, spreading falsehoods and propaganda, though, obviously different kinds, but a nut is a nut to me.

Get it now? Or do you need further clarification?

Sunnyside native I understand what you were saying and I’m all for people saying what they want to say,

my angst was against the mod who gets his underwear in a bunch whenever I comment.

That being said, I supported anything that removed those hicks playing that fake ass volleyball . They were selfish people ….cmon I’m saying what everyone is thinking. They hogged the park EVERY G-damn weekend. I couldn’t take my kid to practice his baseball swing cuz a pack of pygmies were playing grabass with a tiny ball.

I think you people underestimate how ignorant these people can be. When the park is open again they WILL come back. I know my people. They will be like roaches, It’ll start off small…one group getting a small corner and once there’s an all clear and there’s no sign of any federali giving them the stink eye they’ll wave over their friends.

what YOU guys need to do..is organize more things for more people, not just for dog owners. A great way to prevent them from setting up shop is just…put shit everywhere. See that spot in back where they like to set up the nets? place a few random poles . Put some ramps for the skateboarders, make a jogging track. cmon people.!!!

Perhaps Rick you want to walk back from your comments to the George Burles’ video advocating placing signs throughout Sunnyside with “a soccer/volleyball player on it”. Maybe you spoke in anger because SUDS didn’t make it to the video and the Mexican Mariachi Band was featured? Speaking of factual basis Rick, what are the facts to support the recent statement you addressed to me, “I bet I know where to look for you @ the parade, right next to the nuts with the anti-gay signs.” You guys at SUDS really like to stir the dog poo.

Agree with Sycamore, I feel for this man who had so much mental turmoil that he wanted to take his own life. The only other person I believe possesses as much mental turmoil is Oppressed Masses and I sure hope that he gets the help that he needs before it’s too late. We sure don’t want to lose OM!

@ Ruben aka SPHatesMe: I am merely saying that if Oppressed Masses was so very concerned (boo hoo) about the Parks Department extending a portion of the park to a dog run, his lazy ass should have shown up at the community board meetings to say, “Nay”. Everybody wants to be a critic, but nobody wants to get their hands dirty and make things happen. I still always love the quote: “Some people make things happen. Some people watch things happen. And then there are those who wonder, ‘What the hell just happened?”. Oppressed Masses watches things happen, while whining about it like a little school boy. Here’s your Kleenex little boy!

Wow, I am amazed of how Oppressed Masses lies, and is a religious man? I hope you like the hot temps they have down there! I agree with 86Mets, dementia may have set in. Or, it could be as simple as he wants/needs attention. I am believe it’s the latter.

It’s obvious that OM has poor reading comprehension skills.

I have never once said that, as I quote OM’s latest line of BS, “that signs indicating no soccer players/no volleyball players be placed around Sunnyside.”

As a varsity baseball coach, I am all for people exercising, recreating, socializing & networking w/i a city park, or anywhere for that matter, and I have said exactly that in the past.

Another ridiculous quote: “He and other members of SUDS have ranted four months that soccer players and volleyball players be kept out of or limited in the use of Lodati Park. We all know what he’s talking about. National origin prejudice should not be tolerated in any regard”

Again, that wasn’t said either. I know I said that it doesn’t matter what race someone is, publicly urinating in a park, selling beer/food/drugs, destroying the park, etc etc is wrong. My line was that if a bunch of 80yr old Italian Bocce Ball players were doing the same it would be WRONG.

Get your ‘facts’ straight OM.

Back to the topic at hand: the Mayor is more concerned about your intake of soda than he is about people jumping onto the tracks and being killed. He does have his priorities!

Behold the hypocrisy of the Sunnyside post Admin,.

he allows a personal rant to go unchecked by Sunnyside native
yet when I call Blisskrieg an elitist I get deleted.

who is Blisskrieg, why is he being protected ? Does the Admin owe him money? this must be investigated

THIS JUST IN…Oppresses Masses is a goober, who likes spreading nonsense and ridiculous gossip. Probably a quarter of SUDS members are of Latino ethnicity. I don’t ever remember seeing such comments coming from Rick. You’re just jealous of Rick because he accomplished a huge milestone for this neighborhood and you don’t even have enough talent or creativity in your pinky finger to even come up with a project to give back to the neighborhood. I implore you, go to the next community board meeting and try to come up with something that could benefit Sunnyside. IF you were truly so against the dog run, you should have gone to the community board meeting back in the day and let your voice be heard. You DON’T GO to the Sunnyside community board meetings ’cause you’re a loser who truly doesn’t give a hoot about this beautiful neighborhood that I grew up in. Go attend every pub crawl though. That appears to be all you are interested in. That speaks volumes. Enough said…

I’m just razzing, honestly, as a latino myself, I can’t stand those latinos hogging up the park. Never did. I would love it if they privatized the park and organized games for the community. I would gladly sign up so my son can play with other kids in the neighborhood.

and it’s not even volleyball, they catch the damn ball first then throw it up in the air…

RD recently advocated in these pages that signs indicating no soccer players/no volleyball players be placed around Sunnyside. He and other members of SUDS have ranted four months that soccer players and volleyball players be kept out of or limited in the use of Lodati Park. We all know what he’s talking about. National origin prejudice should not be tolerated in any regard.

To an extent, I can understand your dislike of dogs and their owners, but you’ve just officially gone full blown dementia on the topic. Get help.

when is the mayor going to take as seriously the deadly capability of subway trains as he does 17 oz sodas and guns?
