Man Robs ‘Friend’ at Woodside Motel: NYPD

April 8, 2019 By Meghan Sackman

Police are searching for a man who robbed his so-called friend and threatened him with a glass microwave plate at the Woodside Motel about two weeks ago.

The victim, 29, and the suspect allegedly traveled together from a friend’s house to the motel, located at 65-09 Queens Boulevard, around 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27.

Police say once the two were inside the room, the suspect grabbed the glass microwave plate in the room, threatened the victim with physical harm, and demanded $600.

The suspect, after being told by the victim he did not have the money, allegedly became enraged and stole the victim’s cell phone, debit card and checkbook.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction, leaving the victim uninjured, according to police.

The suspect is described by police as black, medium build, and about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a red bandana, black jacket and black pants.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Surprised no one had a copy of this citizen’s grammar school or Communion photo. I’m pretty sure from the bandanna he is wearing it looks like he was up early and on his way to work at the church food pantry. Probably just a misunderstanding between old friends in a comfy motel room.

By bandana you mean di-rag. This also shows you the caliber of person we are dealing with.

Can we close down these “motels” already, they attract all kinds of scum to the neighborhood. Just drive by any one of these Motels after dark, sketchy people by the side of the properties. Like this one, the one next to it (bus stop almost always blocked by vehicles), the one by Hunters Point and 39th, “Quality” inn by 53rd and Queens blvd…

Checkbook? Did they fall from their time machine? Also, nothing good happens after midnight!

Ehhh. I still have to pay a couple of bills with checks because they won’t accept cash and internet banking is unreliable to me. My maintenance has to be paid with a check or money order. Good thing: I can personally hand the check into them or their on site mail slot.

Tjxx still does not accept in store payments.

Why is friend in quotes? What is this, elementary school? Is he a frienemy?

If the victim is this gullible, then this is what you get. Wake up.

Yes it is newsworthy, so we all can see what’s happening and I hope these articles come up when people actually consider staying at these motels. If you just start ignoring it will snowball, family neighborhood is turning into trash because of places like these and people not caring who they rent their apartments to.

by law if a hotel is a full homeless shelter they have to have a sign on their window and their websites that is how the “Quality Inn” on queens boulevard got in trouble.

They usually come out from the woodwork, especially if a minority is displaying a stereotype they say they despise.

I’m surprised none came out.
