Nov. 25, 2020 By Michael Dorgan

A man was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects in Sunnyside Wednesday morning.

The victim, 26, was walking in front of 41-01 46th St. at around 5:30 a.m. when two suspects pulled up alongside him in a gray Nissan car.

The suspects got out of the car and approached the man before one of the assailants displayed a gun.

They snatched the victim’s bag and wallet and then got back into the car. They then fled the scene southbound along 46th Street.

Police said the bag contained around $1,600 worth of electronics which included a laptop and a cell phone. The man’s wallet contained around $10 cash.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic man and was last seen wearing dark clothing. The police did not provide a description of the second perpetrator.

No injuries were reported and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

This will be happening DAILY, multiple times a day, once the low income housing comes to barnett avenue. Good luck paying ganglords a “protection fee” so that they wont break into your home. It happened in pre-gentrified Brooklyn back in the 80’s and 90’s…that is where we are headed. Progressives can only make things equal if they make it BAD for EVERYONE.

no bail, defund the police, aoc and squad ready to kick sleepy joe around if he steps out of line. Debozo on his way out, he dont care. Cuomo shining his emmy and on a book tour about how he wrestled covid into control. Stupidity of the left.

Like a kid in a candy shop for criminals now. Left is insane and why dems losing seats in house and senate.

Defund the police, awesome idea!

If you voted for Cuomo, AOC or Duhblasio, you voted for this.

No sympathy.

Crime happens. Grow up. “Defunding” the police hasn’t even happened yet. If you voted Republican then you voted for the gun policies that make this type of crime possible.

The worst gun violence and crime happens in cities controlled by the Democratic Party so maybe it’s their policies that are the problem.

Anonymous- According to FBI statistics, the worst crime and violence in America are in Republican controlled states of Louisiana, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Carolina and Mississippi. And much of it is meth related and rural. Fact!

Not true. In NYC you need a permit and the system is designed to make it difficult but obtaining a handgun, rifle, or shotgun is quite possible. There is a ton of rules, procedures, and hoops to jump through but you most certainly can exercise your right to own a firearm.

Six billion dollar budget for the NYPD and they can’t even catch petty criminals. Why give them MORE money when they are busy playing Candy Crush on their phones while parked under the 7 train?

Nowadays many people are out and about during the early morning to avoid large crowds later in the day and wait in line first at places like covid testing sites, get to the hospital, markets, the gym, food banks, and to apply for benefits.

Many homeless people are also walking around during that time and throughout the day. Other than than the subway i have never seen so many homeless people in the neighborhood. One man had a sign saying he was willing to work and do anything. Its just sad.

Maybe the social justice warriors from Sunnyside gardens with their BLM signs in their windows can catch the perps ! Or they can let them into their houses snd offer them tea

How frightening! Thank goodness he wasn’t physically harmed. Crime is on the rise and the creepy little weirdo wants to defund the police.

This occurred practically in the little psychos own backyard. I guess it’s defund the police until he’s the victim.

Wow, you’re a real life Bernard Goetz, aren’t you?

Does it make you feel like a big man to be itching for this kind of confrontation?

Yes, we are going to have to start carrying. When the people in charge is not doing their job, what option do we have?

Thanks for posting. We all need to carry less valuables when outside. I only use credit cards which i can easily cancel if i need to. Make a photo copy of each card and store it in a safe place for reference. The story also reminded me that i need to have my favorite red shoes repaired in time for the holidays ?. Happy Holidays Everyone.

Why do we have to live in fear? Or go out with less valuables just because these incidents? We should not get used to live like this, it should not be the new normal. At least, let’s stop thinking that way and expect, demand, ask for the necessary solutions

I hope they looked into surveillance video from shops and homes to get the license plate of the car. I would go food shopping in the night to avoid long lines at the market but i will stop doing that and just order food online or just eat a lot less.

Once again, another example of the daily crime we experience here in Queens and NYC. Don’t worry though, we are at an all time low at the city jails since they’re on our streets. Our mayor and city council should be replaced for not keeping us safe and they continue to deny what is obvious for the rest of us.

It’s very safe on our streets these days. Crime hasn’t disappeared and when it happens nearby, you are entitled to give it some extra thought. Trying to scare others into thinking that it’s dangerous and that they should stay home isn’t the right thing to do.

No injuries? Maybe not physically, but the victim surely was shaken up. And the neighborhood is too. Hope NYPD catches these thugs ASAP.

I would think is easy to find a camera that spotted that car at 5:30am and quickly take action and arrest these thugs. Then, they should get 30+ years. As I mentioned on another post, these “small” crimes only lead to big ones, why do we have to wait until that happens? These pair will never be good for society. Let’s stop fooling ourselves.

There is only one reason someone (like you) would defend these guys and their actions. You are either one of them or you’re related to them. 30+.
