Jimmy Van Bramer Punches Back

Supporters of Jimmy Van Bramer, the Democratic contender for the District 26 council seat, released an attack ad in today’s Queens Chronicle that questions whether his Republican opponent Angelo Maragos lives in the district.

The ad claims that Maragos lives in Manhattan and has never voted in Queens. It cites a Manhattan address he gave that accompanied a past political contribition.

Maragos told the Sunnyside Post in an earlier interview that he has lived in Long Island City since he started college– residing in an apartment that’s owned by his parents.

The Van Bramer ad does not state who paid for it. However, it comes shortly after Maragos has questioned Van Bramer’s affiliation with ACORN and his support of Sunnyside Garden’s landmark status.
