I suspect people are Mexican when they’re polite, kind and respectful…and wear big sombreros!

Aileen, I was agreeing with stuff you said until your Mexican height remark. That was racist. Also, how can you identify who is Mexican on the train? Short people who look hispanic/??

anon, thanks for that… But that’s in mexico.

raquel, the fact that you think this guy looks kike jeter says a lot about your lack of judgement… Which I guess explains why you’re letting these little kids thug you. I think you need to get a grasp of reality and the 21st century because you seem to be stuck somewhere in the past

you know what the important thing is that they catch this guy before he really hurts someone.

Aileen,
I have a Mexican friend who is 6’7″, his sister is 6’1″, his brother is 6’3″. Average height in Mexico is between 5’6″ and 5’9″.

The north side is plagued by kids from “good families” who enjoy committing crimes – and so far have been successful at it.

that’s not racist… that’s truth.
i take the 7 all the time and its rare to see a mexican male taller than 5’5″ …and i play ball so i KNOW 5’7″ is short for a grown african american male.

i dont know why that side of queens blvd cant get their shiitt together.
the south side of queens blvd looks a hell of a lot more ghetto (for lack of a better word) and although we have our issues, there seems to be far less complaints

“AND 5’7″ is generally tall for a mexican and pretty short for a black guy!”
Whoa that’s such a racist remark!

42-15 has been “broken” into twice this year in a similar manner. Someone climbs up the fire-escape and enters an open window. This MO has occurred a few times already in Sunnyside at other buildings. Please LOCK your fire escape windows!!!

42-15 has upgraded its “security” around the building by adding multiple cameras in the entranceways and inside the building as well. Hopefully with the picture’s they’ve submitted this crook will be caught.

5’7″ and 180? thats a pretty brolic dude…

why does this article feel the needs to say MEXICAN and then Hispanic… doesnt mexican fall into that? …isnt that redundant?

(http://womeninbusiness.about.com/od/businessetiquette/a/pc-hispanic.htm … i googled to make sure)

i think this neighborhood is really racist.
i attended the community board meeting yesterday on june 28th and there was a man there who said he had been keeping his eye on the mexican guy who hands out flyers or cards. he said that although, he does believe that this man does that for a living, he also uses his occupation as a way to scope out the neighborhood. THATS INSANE TO ME. he then proceeded to ask the officer what he should do when he saw a suspicious person.
so my follow up question was obviously, “what constitutes someone as looking suspicious?” the officer answering the question probably sensed that i asked out of anger, not really looking for an answer, and gave me the typical, “…anything that looks out of the ordinary…” answer -way to keep it super vague.

yeah, although this man may actually be hispanic, black …or mexican -__- …i dont think it was necessary, in this instance, to throw both terms around (hispanic and mexican)

AND 5’7″ is generally tall for a mexican and pretty short for a black guy!
come on now… some of the stuff that gets said on the sunnyside posts, whether it be the actual article or comments, make me wonder how much of this youre really assessing before you develop your own opinions and concerns.
it seems like all you people want to do is point fingers… but shoot, its not always the dude with the low socioeconomic status causing you harm.
