A Japanese restaurant has opened and two other stores are about to begin to operate shortly.

Last Wednesday, Chikuran Japanese Restaurant opened at 39-11 Queens Blvd., Sunnyside.  Tony Wan, the manager, said the restaurant is offering 50% off sushi and a 10% discount on other foods through March 31. He said the restaurant delivers (718-361-8232).

Chikurin is part of a chain of Japanese restaurants (http://www.chikurinsushi.com). The Sunnyside location is its 10th. Its current locations include Rego Park, Forest Hills, Coney Island and Sheepshead Bay.

Meanwhile, Oasis, a pizza and gyro store, is about to open on 40th Street and Queens Blvd (south side). The store is a good space and will be in competition with Sunnyside Pizza, a popular (although smaller) shop that recently opened across the street.

Additionally, at 49-04 Skillman Ave. a new convenience store is expected to open soon, where Christines Beauty Salon is located.
