The restaurant racked up a whopping 109 violations and remains closed. Calls to the location went unanswered.
The closure came just one day prior to the owners opening a second location.
The new restaurant, called Kabayan 2, is located at 69-12 Roosevelt Avenue. and there was a ribbon cutting at noon.
The owners wrote on their Facebook page Friday that Kabayan 1 is now closed “because of overwhelming demand of Kabayan 2.”

Chinese food better. clean. Make special order for you. no GMO. steam food healthy.
Stop talking nonsense guys!!!!
Look for 1 year walang record na anupamang reklamo sa kabayan.
same reason, from Perlas to kabayan same management..what next? mplement awareness next time.proper hygiene and clean
work areas…train your staff accordingly it is a big lost day counts a lot for restaurant business.
109 violation is a big accomplishment. Bravo! They hit the record!!
How can another branch be allowed to open when there is a list of violations on the table. this is really something. Food and sanitation is such a big deal.
It’s not just kabayans..you don’t know what’s going on in the kitchen and staff when it comes to how they prepare your food anyway..these notions makes me less eat on a restaurant..
Those who don’t like to go anymore to kabayan its your choice and rigths.. just do it and no more talking because you migth eat your words… or someone on those anonymous are just friends of the other premises to make kabayan bad to the eyes of the people
I can’t understand why anyone would see this place, and Tito Rads next door and choose to go in. Tito Rads is nice and clean.
Sobra naman tagal ang service nila.
So much violations! Time to train workers properly and take the exam.
only I can advice to kabayans management be aware of first in first out and of course proper hygiene not only kitchen tools and cuttleries but even your server and kitchen staff awareness of proper cleaning openinh and close.assign somebody to monitor the temperature, and USPH requirements..
Tagalog na lang po tayo. Mahirap intindihin ang mali-maling English and grammar. Wahahaha!!!! These violations can be addressed. I am positive Kabayan1 will open again with vengeance. Kaya matakot na yung mga nasa tabi-tabi dahil baka kayo na susunod na magsasara!!! :-)))))
Was change bum trying to cook in the kitchen again? Chaaaaange!
Haven’t seen him in awhile. I guess that’s where he’s been hiding.
He and Ruben are shacked up in Far Rockaway.
Which one is Ruben?
As the sign in front says “We Cater”
Come on Cherry be true to yourself just tell the truth sa umpisa pa Lang po may mali na…bakit po ung menu ng Tito Rad’s na nauna sa inyo ang parehong pareho sa menu ninyo…just asking Lang po..
Cherry Castellvi has to be a made up name. Why can’t people use their real names. Everyone has to hide behind their computers. Real brave.
its her real name
Perhaps someone can go there and hug a cockroach. I don’t care if they get a AAA on their next inspection. I would never eat there.
Evrybody knows that evrywhere in restaurant business is the proper way of handling the food properly but there are few circumstances that we cannot avoid like those stubborness of the workers and employers itself to not do this and that…… lesson learned…
If they can’t make their employees follow health and sanitation laws, they should not own a restaurant.
We are not on their place, so we cannot judge on them….everything happened with a reason…
We are not on their place so you can’t judge… everything happened with reason
Same thing happened to Dee Thai on Qns Blvd. I hardly eat out anymore. I can tell just by walking into a place if they have unscrupulous food service methods. There aren’t enough food service inspectors to keep up. They get shut down, fix the problem, re-open, and go back to bad habits as soon as the inspector leaves.
I am the same. I only order in now. I cannot anymore set a foot in any of the dubious Sunnyside restaurants.
It’s disgusting. We had lunch there Sunday. Can’t thrust their resto anymore.
Thats it. Will never go there at Kabayan!
Thats it. Would not go to that Kabayan turo turo.
At least there were no dead squirrels
omg
I was just watching a 2012 Bourne movie yesterday. It happens in the Philippines and it looks like hygiene is not the priority there, except I have to say in plants making medications. The population seems much more interested in motorbike chases.
Hey don’t generalized all the places in the philippines… There’s also some freakin dirt and bad hygiene here in the US?!?! Idiot
What happened in Kabayan was not related on what’s going on in the Philippines!!!
I’d never eat in Phillipine restaurant but Phillipine women are the sweetest people in the world.
My mistake sorry
Mistake po saan? Sa maduming restaurant?
Why was Kabayan’s Responses in defense to this, has been deleted?
“The owners wrote on their Facebook page Friday that Kabayan 1 is now closed “because of overwhelming demand of Kabayan 2.”
Yeah, right. Plenty of BS to go with the mouse droppings.
misleading the costumer posted some lies.what if kabayan1 history of public health issues, can be happen again in kabayan2?negligence staff.be true to yourself..
Don’t make comments in English please. Tagalog is fine.
it is really scary ha?
yes that is real silence means the closure is true.
# 9 and # 12 was in reference to our newly put sink that is still not operation because we were doing some construction on it as an add on. Hence we just didn’t put the soap and paper towel since it still not working because it’s unfinished. This is located at our Lechonan section since we added addition Convection Ovens to meet the demand.
Attached is a Letter from Kabayan’s Contractor.
To whom it may concern,
This is to certify that I, Efren De Leon, owner of Princes Design Build and Construction Crop, with a License #: 2039909-DCA, has been contracted by Kabayan Restaurant, to work and fix the previous building violation which cause the closure of the same business establishment, in a manner that will meet all the necessary requirements for such business would be able to resume its operation.
Thank You so much for your consideration.
Yours Truly,
EFREN DE LEON

Bullshit Uncle!
Besides that we also have a walk in Freezers and Walk in Refrigerator in the back that has no permit, Dept of Health wants us to secure a permit for these 2 units.
cherry, wasnt it an oversight on their part. they should have seen it the first they came for inspection dba?
It’s not about the refrigerators it’s about sanitation po niloloko nila ang mga tao sobrang dumi daw talaga ang kitchen nila..
Kabayan has to demolished our little Kubo at the back, because we didn’t secure a permit from Dept Of Building. They have to came back and rein spect next week to make sure, we demolished it.
Is this about the kubo or about sanitation etc..we were there a few days before the said inspection..unfortunately we found strands of hair inside our fresh lumpia…it’s really disgusting po..
Oh no!!!
Oh no..
I once found hare in my rabbit stew!
They cant run the first one so they open a 2nd one. Ive owned 4 different restaurants over the course of 40yrs +, and that health report is the worst ive ever seen.

Bhea, I’m embarrassed for you. At least enable (turn on) autocorrect. This workd is phukt with people like you around

Ooh.
The food is very good. people have been going to eat here since it opened last year. Well, I had no clue that it had problems in so far as it was reported by this web site.
The owner have said that she is working to fix the problems and hope that it will be back in business with better oversight on the operation of the restaurant.
