I feel bad for him, he was a really good person and a really hard worker, and were ever he is for him to rest in peace. and for the drunk driver to stay in prison for life for this cant accure to other people.

you clearly don’t understand the legal definition of murder

What is also horrifying is that the livery cab driver was apparently drunk driving.

anyone here who has ever seen the 108 conduct speed traps raise your hand…. drivers are out of control and know they have no consequences. livery drivers especially.

How it is…..
Ny vehicular manslaughter penalty: 0-15 years
A liberal Ny Judge will get you at the most: 2 years

Should be…
Drive drunk =lose your car to the state.
Kill someone in the the process?
lose your car, house, and bank accounts.

I see this all the time when I’m coming home late. Idiots doing like 60mph down greenpoint avenue. It’s a residential street. Slow it down.

Everyone here knows how crazy the drivers are on Greenpoint. This will happen again and again until we actually police these streets. You can blame this on drunk drivers, but every single not-drunk-driver on Greenpoint at 5 pm drives like a madman too. This will happen again and again until we police the speed limit in Sunnyside.

It is terrible that someone died by a hit and run… maybe we need to start taking away cars from people who are doing this… or make them take a defensve driver cousrse in order for them to drive.. we all have famiies and it is terrible to die so horribly…

Even standing on the sidewalk you have to watch out for these maniacs. The driver should be charged with murder.

Sad news for Mother’s Day morning! I hope they throw the book at the driver! Why can’t people think about the whole drinking and driving thing? Angers me!

This is very sad. I keep telling my friend to take a cab home after having cocktails on Queens Blvd. Maybe this will change his mind.
