Foodies are going have to wait as two popular food tasting events are being put on hold.

The Queens Taste 2020, the popular annual food-and-networking event, is being postponed from May 5 to Oct. 6. Meanwhile, the Taste of Sunnyside that was also schedule for May will take place sometime in the fall.

“The virus is hitting local businesses hard, but the borough is going to bounce back with force,” Queens Tourism Council Director Rob MacKay said.

Queens Taste has been an annual event since 2001. Last year, an estimated 600 people attended to sample cuisine from such countries as China, Colombia, Guyana, Haiti, India, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Thailand, Trinidad, and the Philippines.

The Queens Taste is scheduled to take place at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Meanwhile, details of the Sunnyside event have yet to be announced.

“We are heartbroken to have to postpone the Taste of Sunnyside, but we are already eagerly awaiting the day we can gather and celebrate around amazing food with our neighborhoods again,” tweeted Sunnyside Shines today.

I took a quick walk Saturday in Sunnyside. There were many, many people out on the streets. Don’t you idiots read listen to the news? There were groups of people, people just lingering. Stay inside. Thats why New York has the highest amount of cases in the country. Because it has the highest per cent age of idiots.

Support SUNNYSIDE restaurants. Order takeout or delivery. We can’t have any of our restaurants go out of business in this time of crisis. There are also new restaurants opening up when things get better.
