Group of 5 Teens Violently Rob 2 People in Sunnyside and Woodside Saturday

March 12, 2020 By Allie Griffin

Police are looking for a group of five teenagers who violently robbed another teen and a man in Sunnyside and Woodside on Saturday.

The teens first ganged up on a 16-year-old boy near 41-06 50th St. at around 1:23 a.m. in Sunnyside, police said. They punched, kicked and knocked the boy down to the pavement. The victim dropped a bag of food while being attacked and the teens grabbed it and ran southbound on 50th Street, according to police.

Soon after, at about 1:50 a.m., the five teens approached a 51-year-old man in the vicinity of 71st Street and 41st Avenue in Woodside. They punched, kicked and knocked the man down to the pavement as well — but this time grabbed his cell phone and fled southbound on 71st Street, police said.

The 51-year-old was brought to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.

Four of the teens are described as black males and one is described as a Hispanic male, according to police. All five are believed to be between 16 to 20 years old.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls are strictly confidential.

Vote James Quinn for Queens Borough President. He’s backed by the Correction Officer’s union for a reason. He will fight to keep Riker’s Island OPEN and to stop the construction of those stupid new jails.

This everyday crimes happening by our own American born guys and girls and not foreigners like Thrump said accusing the wrong countries ..first look how our America is getting worst all due to parents, not teaching no values, respect ,proper brought up to their sons and daughters ..its a shame our country is getting worst each day ..and also the law in our country ,doesnt have strict law for criminals out there ..lock these teenagers for life and dont treat them like kings .,that’s why they commit crimes and then they are out again ..no bail no nothing ..lock them for life ,then they will learn.whenever you need police are hardly in Queens, but in manhattan you see more in train stations ..or send these type kids back where they are from no matter background of these teenagers..Thrump should kick these teenagers out of america instead talking of other people he talks about ,who working hard ,taking care of their families and becoming something better in their futures ..instead of these kids born in America ,who dont value all they have.go in streets stealing.

We all just keep complaining here, won’t make a difference, Major, Van Bramer, commissioner, etc, do not read this. If you have problems, if you want to be heard, take it to twitter, and show up to community meetings and put them on the spot.

Cuomo, deBlasio policies rob the taxpayers and reward thugs. Get what you vote for. So who will get elected for Queens borough president to keep law abiding citizens terrorized- Crowley funded by developers to build a mega jail, Richards, Costa or Miranda all advocating for criminals.

So sad to hear that this sort of thing has become a nearly everyday affair in what was a great city. The police don’t care because they are regularly accused of brutality and our mayor, council reps, governor care more about protecting the criminals. In addition, Sunnyside and nearby towns continue to look more filthy with street garbage, homeless and mentally ill. The future looks bleak.

We are in dire need of more police presence; the beat cop. In less than two months, McDonalds in LIC was robbed by a brazen criminal who entered through the drive through window and this week Pay O Matic was robbed during the day.

They’ll be out and about in no time. Criminals aren’t afraid anymore. Democratic policies have let them run wild.

Did 108 ever catch the other kids, there were 3 other incidents over the last year, these kids know there are no cops patrolling the area so they are free to do whatever. Even if they are caught they go “it wasn’t me”.. How do we teach them a lesson, drop a few civilian clothed cops on the street, and let these dirtbags try to rob them. Oh wait “cops shot my little boy, he never done nothing bad”..

Do you know what happen if the 51y.o did someting in self-defense?
Would he be in trouble for attacking back underageded or he’ll be called racist for attacking back a “minority”?
Just asking, I don’t know the selfdefense law limitations in NY.

Police from five Queens precincts are looking for a pair of burglars who targeted independent mom-and-pop drugstores from Fresh Meadows to Astoria throughout December.
