Police Searching for 2 Suspects in String of Woodside Robberies

Dec. 20, 2019 By Allie Griffin

Police are searching for two suspects involved in a recent string of robberies in Woodside.

Two men have been grabbing victims from behind and taking off with the victims’ cell phones and wallets over the past two weeks, police said.

The pair first robbed a 33-year-old man who was walking on the sidewalk in front of 37-25 64th St on Dec. 14. They grabbed him from behind, punched him in the abdomen, took his wallet with $70 and fled the location at 7:50 p.m., according to law enforcement.

A few hours later at 9:20 p.m., the men grabbed another victim, a 32-year-old man, from behind as he walked in front of 65-33 38th Ave. They threw him to the ground and took his wallet and cell phone, then fled in an unknown direction, police said.

The pair of alleged thieves struck again this week. On Dec. 17 at 8:20 p.m., they approached a 35-year-old man who was walking in the vicinity of 40-21 61st St and choked him from behind with an umbrella. They grabbed the victim’s cell phone and wallet containing $20 and fled northbound on 61st Street, according to police.

(NYPD)

None of the victims were seriously injured, police said.

Anyone with information in regard to the identities of the males is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, or on Twitter @NYPDTips.

@Anonymous – If you’re going to continuously post the same thing under various posting handles at least change up the comment a little. You’re like a broken record. An obsessive gullible broken record.

If they are caught after January 1, 2o2o they do not have to pay bail and if they show up for their court date, DiBlasio is giving them Mets tickets or an Apple gift card! So, thanks to this Mayor we will see an increase of crime that is not reported. This Mayor has destroyed this City and continues to surround himself by progressives who pat his back saying ” Job well done!” Can’t wait for a whole new City Council, Mayor and we need all new politicians for every office from now on to allow this to happen.
