A one-story building on Queens Boulevard was demolished last month, making room for a new eight-story apartment building.
A sidewalk shed permit was filed last month at 50-11 Queens Boulevard so the building formerly occupied by N.E.M. Electronics could be demolished.
Owner Ronald Ji said he plans to build an eight-story, 60-unit residential building on the 12,000 square foot lot, and expects it to be completed in about two years.
He originally filed plans in 2015 to build a seven-story building with four floors of hotel rooms and three floors of residential apartments, but the plan was rejected by the Department of Buildings.

This is great news what a good location, maybe itll clean up Roosevelt in the 50st area. Its really in need of it, its a muggers paradise. Also fix the 52 st train station up, its horrific
this is why people need to go to community meetings and also to complain to JVB about everything community meetings I believe are once a month with the pct. call 108 and ask where and when the meetings are –
Yes by all means call the 108 with all your questions, or just google it. You have a keyboard at your fingertips. Christ Almighty, maybe the 108 could send a car to each and every person that needs one.
all I said was call the 108 Pct. and ask when their meeting is and where it will be they do have them once a month – and if you call JVB office they will tell you also — no need to be nasty it is not nice –
I would like to know how much to rent and other pertinent information as I grew up in Sunmyside and live in Florida and would live to go back to my roots if I could afford it.

Good. This is a location where more density is appropriate. Sounds like it was being underutilized before and happy to see it will be residences not a hotel.
