Sept. 21, 2015 Staff Report
Massis International Foods, located at 42-20 43rd Ave, is officially closing Friday.
The owner of the store—which offers a variety of Turkish, Armenian and Romanian goods—said he plans to close at the end of the week and that everything is ½ price until then.
The owner had suggested in 2014 that he had planned to close although at that time he did not provide a definitive date.
The store is known best for selling cold cuts, sausages, nuts, bread, olives and imported cheeses.
The shelves are now half empty as shoppers have take advantage of the discounted prices.

Parrot, on Queens Blvd. and 46th, did them in. Better location, similar products and foods.
Unless Bariur’s turns into a real grocery store, it too will be done in by Parrot. Bariur has good coffee but little else to attract the average shopper. Parrot also has good coffee, and it’s less expensive. They also have hundreds of other products that appeal to the average shopper at reasonable prices.
what about us REAL MEN who love to dance with women. i miss the old sidetracks when they had dancing after 10 pm
Real men wear leather pants and run their mustaches together.

That’s a large space. Will be hard to find a new tenant.
