Sunnyside resident Dan Toth put together the following video that pays tribute to the neighborhood, which he describes as “safe, diverse, close to the city, and always sunny,” although he admits that it gets cloudy from time-to-time.
Toth’s aim with the video is to show what he describes as the “quaint beauty and quiet, local feel of Sunnyside.”
Toth walked around Sunnyside to get all of the shots for the video.

Love the video! The music–Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side–hardly describes Sunnyside but without the lyrics is a great accompaniment.

Christine, this was in reddit!? Hmm, it’s strange and interesting.
I love the idea of some hip video about sunnyside, but for some reason this one made me nauseous when I kept watching it in full screen and with train moving in both directions and center video swaying. Maybe I am prone to motion sickness but I hope I am just the only one. It’s like when Youtube does its “auto stabilize” same thing happens with that.
I hope we can see more videos with cool sunnyside scenery, but one day I want to make a video of all the nasty things in Sunnyside so we can send it to JVB and Sunnyside C.O.C. as well as SunnysideShines. They seem to turn a blind eye on things that are wrong with sunnyside.
How about a sunnyside photo gallery, everyone can post their pictures? If nobody is up for it I am willing to start a site where everyone can upload pictures and we can classify them, vote for best one, etc. It looks like SP is not accepting much user content, it’s very strict when it comes to diversity.

Great job, Dan Toth, especially the split editing. Good friend of mine shares your last name. He is very Italian but the name throws people off when they first meet him (“Toth? What is that?”) I had the same issue with my last name, which is german but jewish folks I sell to often ask if I am “one of them”. So funny, stereotypes. Just another reason we are here in Sunnyside! Cheers!
