Jimmy Van Bramer, the Democratic candidate vying for the 26th District council seat, sent out an invitation to his friends on Friday asking them to join him in a “phone banking party” this Sunday at 2:00pm at his Skillman Ave. (45th-46th Sts) headquarters.
The announcement comes just 3 days after Angelo Maragos, his Republican rival, said he was holding a meeting at the same time on the same block–where he will be endorsed by State Sen. Marty Golden.
Maragos, surprisingly, set up his political headquarters on the same block (45-04 Skillman Ave.) as Van Bramer did a few weeks ago. In fact it is only seven stores down. Therefore the candidates and their volunteers are likely to bump into each other as they attend their respective events.
Who knows, perhaps the two groups might all join together and discuss ‘ACORNs’, the land marking process and Manhattan addresses.
