A 62-year-old man was randomly stabbed on a Manhattan-bound 7 train in Long Island City Friday morning.

The victim, police said, was stabbed in the face and hand by a suspect as the train was pulling into the Queensboro Plaza subway station at around 8:40 a.m.

Police say the suspect stabbed the man for no apparent reason and then fled on foot when the train stopped at the station.

The victim was transported by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s, and was last seen wearing a button-down shirt and black shorts.

No arrests have been made and the incident is still under investigation.

The MTA tweeted that the stabbing caused some delays to southbound 7 trains.

Is the nyc police Commissioner on vacation? Is the mayor still partying in CA? Our last police Commissioner and mayor were constantly being attacked and blamed by the press and local politicians for the rise in crime and things are getting worse. However media and officials are being mostly quiet on Adams and Sewell. Its a double standard and laughable. You get what you voted for folks. Now get back to work and take the subway!!

This isn’t about politics or gun fetishism, this is happening because we have absolutely no public mental health services available for those that actually NEED it. On top of all this is that we have all of these ither problems (like gun fetishism, nationalism/fascism, and power hungry elites on both sides of aisle) that are compounding into dire effects on the nations main street.

Have you ever dealt with the mentally ill population? If so…did they hallucinate or were they delusional? You make it sound like its so simple. Many of them feel there is nothing wrong with how they think and feel and do not seek treatment. We live in a big city and many mentally ill people with psychos are able to survive even on the streets. Then you have those living with family or on their own that refuse help or stop taking meds and can become a risk to themselves or others. Many need controlled environments where there are rewards and consequences for their behavior. But that is not going to happen. Locking people up in psych wards for years is no longer a thing.

The subway system is still one of the safest in the world and whether you like or hate the subway and other public transits in NYC, it is a privilege to have it in this >$5 gas era that is hurting Americans’ pockets in the rest of country. I haven’t taken the subway for 3+ years, and will continue to roll around in my car, but as infrequent as possible due to the ever rising gas prices. I got a bike recently for near distance errands to cut back on gas cost. I love biking anyways, and was a good biker too.

Adams is a bust despite his tough talk. However, a lot of the crime issue is not solvable on a city level. This is a state, federal, and cultural issue at this point. No police officer in his right mind is going to go out on a limb to arrest violent criminals when they will be released without bail, the District Attorney might not prosecute, and using force to arrest the perp could end up being an edited, viral video.

Back in the day when I was a young person heading into work on the subway, if someone was being accosted or harassed, people would intervene. This was in the 80s. Today, the only ones with a built in meter that says “Get up and help,” are too old to be of any use in such a situation. When talking about the failure of the parents who raised the thugs who victimize people, one should not leave out the failure of parents who raised their kids to look the other way or consider it entertaining when they see someone being mugged or beaten. That is a whole other element that contributes to the toilet that this city has become.

Most people are defenseless on the subway. Cops are not doing anything and really do not care.

How come we don’t say if he’s black or white or is it just assumed that he was black.

Crime happens almost daily on the subway. MTA should be used to it by now. No reason to delay the transit system. Just station ambulances near or at subway lines. People need to get to work. Pick up the injured, clean the mess and lets keep things moving. I mean the had covid testing and vax sites on the subway..they should have nurses around 24/7 to care after the injured.

This crime was committed with a knife not a gun. It is the acceptance of crime by certain ethnic groups that is responsible for the problems in this city. But just try to mention it.

Most knives ARE banned in NYC...

Would you like to repeal those laws?

Just because someone has an abortion, should we outlaw ALL abortions?

And everyone said I had made a bad call when I told HR I wanted my role converted to fully remote because of subway violence. Glad I did, because now I never have to worry about something absolutely insane like this happening to me on my way to work!!

Thanks Bragg! Thanks WannaBePresidentAdams!

Nice. I’m a 62 year old man. That’s about the time I go thru the Queensboro Plaza station in the morning. Could have been me. You don’t even give the ethnic group anymore. I guess too many protests in front of your house.

Oh good..another criminal champion for progressives to advocate for and protect at all costs….but not the hard working people who are trying to get to work on the train…

My guess is this is another repeat offender who was able to be on the streets due to bail reform instead of locked up away from law abiding citizens.

Got reading comprehension?

Pro tip: you might try reading the article before commenting. No gun was used in this crime. It was a stabbing

Reps might have made guns more accessible.

But it’s the Dem voters who are doing the shooting.

Check your reality.

This is an idiotic statement. Do you really think Republicans have anything to do the rampant crime that’s going on since the Leftist morons introduced bail reform, defund the police, etc., etc.? You likely voted for these cretins.

This has to become an election issue. We must tighten gun restrictions. We need to vote more progressives into office. Even though we defeated Trump he is on the rise again. End white supremacy!! Progressives are the only ones that are are able to stand up.to Trump and his supporters.

Knife crime, thanks Democrats

Democrat politicians have ruined this city. Crime will continue to go up. Just look at the numbers. Inform yourself better.

How many gang bangers die with guns on them

Conceal carry – You obviously have never been in a situation involving an active shooter. It’s not TV, movies or a video game where you see your opponent and have a “clear” objective. Are you the target of the perp? Is someone else the target of a perp, if so is it personal, family affair? Then the so called victim turns around and shoots you for threatening their loved one.. You sound like a frustrated cop.

Crimes are being committed with guns and knives. It’s the acceptance of crime by certain ethnic groups that causes these problems. Asians and Jews aren’t committing all the crime. It’s Blacks and some Hispanic groups. The failure to discuss this for fear of being called racist is the problem.

Sadly, since the suspect’s skin color is not described we could rule out a white guy.

City Council passes bill shifting broker fee burden to landlords, sparking backlash from real estate industry and key critics

Nov. 14, 2024 By Ethan Stark-Miller and QNS News Team

The New York City Council passed a landmark bill on Wednesday, aiming to relieve renters of paying hefty broker fees — a cost that will now fall on the party who hires the listing agent. Known as the FARE Act (Fairness in Apartment Rentals), the legislation passed with a veto-proof majority of 42-8, despite opposition from Republicans and conservative Democrats.
