4-Story Building With Medical Offices Planned For 67th Street

41-33 67th St. (NYC ZoLa)

Aug. 21, 2018 By Nathaly Pesantez

Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building with medical offices in Woodside.

The new building is set to rise at 41-33 67th St., the current site of a two-story building, and features eight apartments including a penthouse duplex, and two floors of medical offices.

The building, planned at a height of 40 feet, would span a total of 7,505 square feet, and includes a laundry room and five attended car parking spaces.

Department of Building filings indicate that Nirmal Rai, who has owned the property since the late 1970s, had filed the same permits back in 2017, but that the permits have since expired.

Demolition permits were filed for the existing building back in May.

Rai did not immediately respond to questions on the development and its timeline.

Silvercup Studios partners with local schools to foster next-generation filmmakers in Queens

After it was shuttered in a bitter labor dispute in the mid-70s, nearby factory owner Harry Suna of Kew Gardens purchased the property at 42-25 21 St. in 1980, and his architect sons Stuart and Alan began drawing up the plans to repurpose the property into Silvercup Studios, which launched in 1983 and rapidly became one of New York City’s largest film and production facilities, with nearly a half million square feet of studio space and 19 sound stages.
