It seems as though significant neighborhood stores are a vanishing breed and the culprit in the retail sector is the internet. Music giants such as Tower, Sam Goody, Virgin, etc. are memories that are soon to be followed by Walden Books, Borders and B&N. You don’t need expensive stores and overhead to sell electronic books for kindle and nook. Nothing is safe from the e-mencace!

the woodside and sunnyside area is not forest hills or bayside, where well-known stores open up. the hey day for name brand stores in this area are long gone.

It is wonderful that people want to open up their business in our town. but would it be so horrible for someone to look around and see what type of business we have here and instead of competing for busines how about giving us a taste of something new that we might need that we do not have that their idea or concept would not have any competion for that business. I guess they we should be happy on the orhter hand that another hair dude wants to open up on the blvd.

I wonder why it is so hard for other business that we need here does not open up here. Like a bookstore ora music store for all cultures not just spanish. Or a discount shoe store. What do you people think out there? What is your opinion?
