Yum Yum, a Thai restaurant located on the corner of 43rd and Queens Blvd, opened its doors for the first time on Friday.

The opening represents a significant step for the restaurant, according to co-owner Nira Jetanamest,  since it is its first time Yum Yum has opened outside of Manhattan. Yum Yum has three restaurants in the city.

The company chose Sunnyside since Nira’s family lived on 46th Street in Sunnyside for more than a decade, shortly after immigrating from Thailand in 1989.

The business is run by Nira, her brother, Nares, and her father, Don Jetanamest.

Where’s the menu you mentioned would be attached shortly? I guess they left Sunnyside now that they have 3 restaurants in the city. Oh, and rumor has it they were seen ordering food at Dee Thai. Is Dee the place to go then for great Thai food? Is it the place where even the other Thai restauranteurs eat?
