New York City is still in discussions with the owner of the so-called Woodside Triangle to buy the property, according to councilman Jimmy Van Bramer.

The NYC Parks department and the NYC Department of Administrative Services are “still negotiating” with Vinny Oppedisano for the site, which is located at the junction of 34th Ave. and 59th and 60th Streets.

Van Bramer, who aims to convert the space into a park, secured $350,000 for its purchase in June, which was deemed to be enough at the time.

Latest on Lou Lodati Park

Meanwhile, Councilman Van Bramer is expected to have a “walk through” next week with designers/staff members from the Parks Department concerning the $1.4 m overhaul of Lou Lodati Park, located on the corner of Skillman Ave. and 43rd Street. The project is on track to be completed by June 30, 2012.

He said that members of the public will be able to weigh in on the design at community board meetings.
