A 50-year-old man was punched multiple times in the face at a subway station in Long Island City during the early hours Wednesday morning, according to police.
The victim was aboard a Forest Hills-bound R train at around 12:15 a.m. when the suspect threw an unknown object at him while the train was at the Queens Plaza station. When the victim exited the train at the station, the suspect followed him onto the mezzanine level and punched him several times in the face.
The suspect, according to police, also struck the victim with a “wet floor” sign causing minor cuts and swelling to his face and lips. The alleged perpetrator then fled the station.
The victim was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst in stable condition.
The suspect is described as being in his 50s and approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall. Police said he has a medium build, medium skin complexion and was wearing a turquoise T-shirt, light colored jeans and black sneakers.
Police released photos of the suspect.

We need more homeless shelters! In different parts of the city. This way, this homeless gentleman would be busy taking public transport between the facilities instead of having free time to attach anyone. In conclusion, it’s not his fault, it’s the fault of the society, government and Trump.

He probably wouldn’t have used it…the average person just cowers and does nothing…reality. He could’ve had steel tipped boots, pepper spray…but he didn’t. He probably didn’t even swing back. These guys might be crazy but they still pick their targets according to age and gender. I’m not a tough guy or anything like that, plus I’m 60. I probably lost more fights on average than won them…but even a raving lunatic is not gonna get a free punch at me. Until people start pushing back, this is not going to end.
