A Dollar Tree store was robbed at gunpoint in Sunnyside Sunday, less than 24 hours after a Dollar Store in Middle Village was robbed in the same manner, according to police.

Police say a suspect walked into the Dollar Tree store at 39-09 Queens Blvd. in Sunnyside Sunday at around 4 p.m. and brandished a firearm in front of a 30-year-old male employee.

The suspect then robbed a safe inside the store and fled the scene with around $1,000 cash, according to police.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s who weighs around 180 pounds.

On Saturday, a suspect using the same modus operandi held up the Dollar Tree store at 78-02 Metropolitan Ave. in Middle Village at around 9:30 p.m., police said.

The suspect brandished a gun and demanded cash from a 62-year-old male worker at the store before stealing around $1,000 from a register. He then fled the scene on foot, police said.

Police do not know if both incidents are related.

No arrests have been made and no injuries were reported.

So the guy who robbed the store in Sunnyside is in his 30’s and about 180. Uh, did anybody notice anything else and I’m not talking about what he wore! I know Walgreens by me is constantly robbed by guys who are black – usually between the ages of 20-60.

When’s the last time a white person was seen in a photo and accused of stealing in this part of Queens? Yesterday some white guy was accused of starting fires in Central Park. I was shocked the news reported he was white, is that racist?

why would the media protect its citizens and give you info on criminals when they can protect them and conceal their identity?

Description of suspect very vague

“The suspect is described as a man in his 30s who weighs around 180 pounds.“
Describe better so we can find the suspect. Was he an Irish man? Or perhaps a Hasidic Jew? Oh…I see, we can’t describe the demographics because it’s racist.

The BLM boogeyman is to blame!

Trump guide to blaming your problems on things:

White person did it? Antifa
Black person? BLM
Jewish person? George Soros

…etc

Lol why is it always the Trump Supporters that always want to start something? Mentioning race does nothing here and only perpetuates white supremacist stereotypes. They already mentioned his height and weight. Leave it alone.

Since news organizations nearly always put “White” in the headline when accurate, e.g., “White Man Robs Store,” for several years it has been very safe to assume that whenever the race is NOT listed, the perp is black.

Im always shopping at the dollar tree stores with my children and sometimes elderly parent. This is so frightening!! The city needs to step up and help people in need. I can not afford to eat out and must prepare meals at home. SNAP should all people to buy premade food from local eateries. Its time we allow SNAP recipients access to restaurants and bars that serve food.
