Police have collared two young teens who allegedly jumped a man out walking his dog in Middle Village last week.
Officers arrested a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old on charges of gang assault Tuesday. The NYPD didn’t release their names because they are minors.
The two boys were part of a large group of teenagers that allegedly assaulted a 44-year-old man Friday night near Juniper Valley Park.
The teens were setting off fireworks and yelling at the corner of 75th Street and Juniper Boulevard North, when the man — reportedly an off-duty firefighter — confronted them about the noise just before 10 p.m., police said.
The teens argued with the man and then began throwing punches, police said.
Videos posted to social media and obtained by the New York Post show several of the teenagers push the 44-year-old to the ground and repeatedly punch and kick him.
The unnamed victim told the Post that there were at least a hundred kids near the park and one of them hit him in the back of the head with a glass bottle.
The teens ran off when an ambulance pulled up to the scene, the videos show. The victim refused medical attention despite suffering bruising, cuts and pain, police said.
The NYPD released photos of three suspects following the brutal attack. The department didn’t specify which two of the three were arrested.

So much went wrong here…
1. Parents letting their kids be jerks
2. One guy trying to face down a whole mob of kids… being kids/jerks
3. Cops doing nothing because someone hurt their feelings, pointing out they shouldn’t brutalize and murder people
4. Sunnyside Post linking to the repugnant, anti-working class Rupert Murdoch organ, the New York Post
5. Curtis Sliwa actually seeming to have a point
Next time just walk your doggie and mind your business.
What tough brave kids! I heard the parents turned them in – the other parents must turn in these criminals also. Sometimes the younger they are, the more vicious they are. Many thanks to city councilman Bob Holden for making these arrests a priority. On the other hand, if it were JIMMY VAN BRAMER, he would probably tell us that they are “misunderstood” and need milk and cookies.
Maybe read them a bedt time story by a transvesite
He didn’t deserve to get hit but c’mon bro. It’s NY. If you are going to approach street goblins you have to be ready for an unpleasant reaction. Don’t get me wrong, I am on the victim’s side. I just believe if you live in a city filled with crime you gotta be prepared to defend yourself at all times. They would of hit anyone no matter the age.
He was 30 years older! No stranger especially an adult has the right to approach someone that young for making too much noise. Either talk to the parents or call 311.
People that think like Stella raise kids like these.
“Hey! There’s a group of rowdy teenagers. I think I’ll approach them. What’s the worst that could happen?” Stupid is as stupid does.
Teens being teens (loud and playing with fireworks). The old man might’ve said something crazy. I don’t feel bad. Mind your business and don’t say something slick then maybe you won’t face these type of consequences….
Normally and especially nowadays if you approach and confront a group of young strangers acting wildly you’re asking for trouble. Don’t play grownup with strangers. Respect has gone out the window. Call the police. They will not doing anything but at least you will feel like you tried.
It’s sad what happened to the guy but honestly he should have minded his own business and just call the cops when he got home and let them deal with it.
Why an off-duty FDNY thought he could tell 50+ teens to stop lighting up fireworks like it was 3 generations ago??
Catch them what for! They’re teens that makes it an even more quicker release. I am wondering how the victim approached them and what he said to them. I am sorry but if it aint your child you have no right to say anything.
Man NY is getting real bad when toddlers start beating people up.
Y the hell would u approach a group of ppl that r up to no good? Just b a Kevin and call the police.
Nothing but a bunch of punks. They will never be productive members of society.
These punks aren’t so tough when not part of a huge mob.
They are probably crying for their mommies about now.
Assholes aren’t born. They’re raised.
