CityMD will open at 47-16 Greenpoint Ave. on March 1 (Queens Post)

The urgent care provider CityMD will open a Sunnyside location next week that will offer residents a range of medical services including COVID-19 testing.
The company will move into the ground floor of a four-story development located on the corner of Greenpoint Avenue and 48th Street. The new 3,000 square foot center will open March 1.
CityMD currently operates 138 locations throughout New York and New Jersey. The Sunnyside location will be the company’s 12th facility in Queens, according to a company spokesperson.
The Sunnyside center will provide services ranging from physical exams, pediatric care, lab tests, and treatment for injuries and illnesses. The company will also offer state-of-the-art medical equipment, including X-ray and heart-rate machinery.
The company will provide PCR, rapid and serum anti-body COVID-19 tests that can be scheduled online. The center will also have self-check-in kiosks.
The facility, however, will not be offering the COVID-19 vaccine–due to a shortage of supply. However, common vaccines like MMR, polio, tetanus and flu shots will be available when the center opens.
The opening of the new CityMD facility comes nearly a year after COVID-19 first hit and the demand for testing and treatments remains high, according to Vincent Campasano, CityMD’s Chief Operating Officer of the New York region.
“With this new Sunnyside walk-in urgent care, we look forward to giving residents the caring emergency physicians and clinical teams they need to help fight the pandemic and treat a large range of other health care needs,” Campasano said.
He noted that the center is located just two blocks away from the nearest entrance to the 46th Street-Bliss subway station.
News of the opening was welcomed by Assembly Member Catherine Nolan, who said that the center will offer residents premier urgent care and badly needed access to COVID-19 testing.
“During these difficult times in an ongoing pandemic, it is a high priority for Sunnyside residents to have rapid testing and board-certified medical professionals accessible in our neighborhood,” Nolan said.
“There has not been enough testing in Sunnyside and I am hopeful that this opening will help rectify that.”
The facility will be open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
In addition to CityMD, Neighborhood Radiology Services, a medical imaging center with multiple locations in New York City, will occupy the cellar and second floor, as well as part of the ground floor, of the building. It is unclear when that facility will open.

Beware City MD. They will charge you a fee on your credit card when you visit. Then they will charge your health insurance later, and then they will bill you six months later for a total of $300 for a simple eye exam to renew your driver’s license, This happened to me when DMV was closed during pandemic. They never explained the total charges at the time of the visit. It’s pandemic price gouging.
Health care for profit is immoral. We deserve an NHS.

This is good news. There were times I wanted to go to a walk-in clinic, but the closest one was in Astoria.
there is one in Jackson Heights on 73rd Street and Roosevelt and they do not take MEDICAID – only private insurance and MEDICARE – which is great.
