Updated: Woman Fatally Struck by Van on Roosevelt Avenue: NYPD

A 49-year-old Woodside woman was fatally struck in the crosswalk while crossing Roosevelt Avenue Friday morning.

The victim, Choekyi Norzon of 68th Street, was hit by a 2002 Ford van while in the crosswalk at the intersection of 65th Street and Roosevelt Avenue at around 8:45 a.m., according to a NYPD spokesperson.

She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and pronounced dead.

Police said that the driver, a 70-year-old man, was heading south on 65th street when he struck the woman in the crosswalk while attempting to make a left turn onto Roosevelt Avenue.

The driver remained on the scene and was not arrested. Police determined no criminality at the time of the incident, according to the spokesperson.

The investigation is ongoing.

low visibility in that area. The city has put some structures in that area that make it very difficult to see cars turning and coming. There is a day care near by and I take my daughter there, and have to walk further out just to be safe.

Why has Trump completely failed to deliver one of his central campaign promises

He promised Mexico would make a “one-time payment” for the wall. That was a lie, you believed him.

Now, with control of the white house and the senate, 3 years later Trump’s completely failed. He wants new taxes to pay for it.

Why is Trump so soft on border security?

That is a horible intersection. It should go 65 north and left on 39 only. 39 should be one way to 64, 64 should run south, then 39 2 way again after 64. Do i have to go fix everything

Bicycles are the true danger.

Another tragic death caused by a motorist.

But I saw a bike run a stop sign one.
