A small commercial building on 61st Street in Woodside is going to get a whole lot bigger.

A developer has filed plans to convert a one-story building at 37-55 61st Street into a four-story mixed-use complex. The building will have ground floor commercial space with 11 apartments on the upper floors.

The complex will be 40 feet tall, up from the existing 12 feet. The current white-brick building, which went up in 1958, is sandwiched between two apartment buildings.

The property was purchased for $3,230,000 in May by Thanh Truong of 37-55 61st LLC.
