A Yorkie that was snatched from the front porch of a Woodside home earlier this month has been returned to its owner and the alleged thief has been arrested.
Jonathan Coronado, 30, was arrested Tuesday on grand larceny charges for allegedly stealing a Yorkshire Terrier from the front porch of a woman’s home in the vicinity of 50th Avenue and 66th Street last week.
Coronado, who lives on 63rd Street in Maspeth, allegedly took the dog, named Jeter, from the porch while the woman was inside at around 4:30 p.m. June 5.
Police released images of Coronado riding his bike on June 7 via social media. He was arrested at the 108 Precinct stationhouse in Long Island City on Tuesday evening.

Please never leave your dogs outside unattended. I also hate it when people tie their dogs up outside a store or restaurant while they shop or eat. Your dog can be snatched at any moment and maybe end up in a pit bull ring (no offense to pit bulls……people are the problem). Also small dogs are very vilnurable. If you live in a suburban area a small dog could be killed by a hawk or coyote or whatever else is out there.
I’m glad the dog is back with its owner – where he belongs. This butthole should be jailed for kidnapping, trespassing and for talking on a cell phone while operating a vehicle. Since this city is so freakin bike happy, treat people who ride bikes and are on the phone the way they do drivers of 4 wheeled motor vehicles.
That’s a great point, this single theft proves that 100% of cyclists run stop signs all the time. I’m a Trump Lover so I’m actually gullible enough to believe this.

I read here that some guy has actual photos of bike riders running red lights. He’s dying to show them to someone.

The odds that your dog will be snatched are pretty low. There’s nothing wrong with tieing your pet up for a few minutes while you run inside to make a quick purchase. People all over the world do this regularly and shouldn’t have to worry about their pet being stolen. The vast majority of people around here are honest and will not steal your dog. If YOU are worried, that’s your problem. Don’t try to scare the rest of us.
schmitty is neither super nor witty, clueless is more like it. If you love your pet, it is never worth the 5min you will save tying them up in front of a store where they can be snatched, abused, backed over by someone parking or escape-and all of these can and have happened. It’s lazy and foolish.

The dog was on the front porch. Maybe just for a minute, maybe longer. Doesn’t matter. It’s a dog, not a package. Why blame the victim?
If a package was left at your front door and was stolen, would you blame the thief, or call yourself stupid?
