Anything can pop up in NYC! I’ve seen foxes, possums and heard about wolves.

Dont leave your family members unattended dumbass. This is nature, you’re lucky a condor didnt swoop in and grab the dog
No condors are in this region, and turkey vultures eat dead animals. Occasional hawks and falcons are around but they prefer pigeons.
Glad the Yorkie was returned.

It is called a dog jacking. Not napping. Duh! As in “My corgi just got dog jacked.”
Nope.

Cars are things we own. Therefore: carjacking. Digs, although we may think they are our children, are pets, therefore: we own them in law stance.
So:. Dog jacking.
It was obviously a homeless guy who wanted to sell the dog for drugs
Might be. I’ve seen homeless with smartphones.
A biker committing a crime? What a shock!
Oh Lily- Have you ever heard of a get away car?
He’s on a bike in the photo.
AND he’s on the phone!!! Double infraction!!!
Not to mention he’s on the damn sidewalk.
That’s quite a stretch. You must be amazing at yoga!
Why is a little dog like this outside unattended??
Because this used to be a decent neighborhood where you could do that. People forget. But our new Democratic leadership is running it into the ground.
Oh please, like there wasn’t a bunch of crime in Sunnyside back in your day. I remember what the 7 train looked like back then, graffiti all over, the place was nowhere near as clean, especially the parks. Get in your ‘Way Back’ machine for a dose of reality. The city, as a whole, is MUCH safer. Just 29 years ago 2300 murders in 1 year. Now ~ 300. Everyone is so saturated with info that they think crime is worse now, the reality is it is not. Not even close. You just see it on your silly app, the scroll @ the bottom of your tv screen while you watch old matlock reruns and family feud, add in the explosion of cable news and online sources and it APPEARS crime is out of control, but the reality is it isn’t
crime sure is out of control I do not know what planet you are from but in sunnyside woodside long island city and astoria it is bad and that is the truth.
Anonymous- You’re absolutely right. You may want to get out of “Dodge” before it hits rock bottom. If you have any property to unload please let me know using this comment stream, I’ll do you a favor and try to take it off your hands. Don’t expect much since it is in a dangerous neighborhood, hopefully we could get you at least some of your money back. Don’t hesitate things are only going to get worse and property depression even more rapid.
Hana- The 7 train was tagged up in the train yards not in Sunnyside.
Why don’t you look at stats of crimes in Sunnyside 20 years ago compared to now. Much worse now.
Doughboy- Our neighbors small dog was taken back in the 70’s, this is nothing new.
Are you saying a serial dog jacker has returned? Like Pennywise showing up every once in a while. Sccccary!
And in what eon was that? Times have changed. Put the semaphore flags away.
I crunched the numbers:
Pre-deblasio: crime rate 0%
Deblasio: crime rate 4000%
Sure people will deride you for blaming all your problems on “muh libruls” but clearly the numbers speak for themselves.
Putting your dog on your porch is not like you’re putting out on the street. A dog on your porch should be okay unattended. It’s not like dogs need to be watched 24/7.
Probably needed a “Doggie Cam” to keep an eye on the dog. Dog could have gotten into something it wasn’t supposed to, or even stepped on something sharp. Gotta always have the Doggie Cam.
