A new 14-story building could soon be coming to Woodside.
Allen Konstam of Madison Realty Capital filed plans last week to construct a 161-foot-tall mixed-use building at 46-09 69th St., on the corner of Queens Boulevard.
The building, which will total 216,522 square feet, will have 290 residential units and 9,206 square feet of commercial space. The plans call for a variety of amenities, including a fitness room, laundry room, media room, lockers, a recreation area, and an open rooftop space.
The lot, purchased by Madison Realty Capital in 2016 for $12.75 million, previously had a one-story building on it that was demolished last year.
The new building will be serviced by the 7 train at the 69 St.-Fisk Ave. subway station.
Madison Realty Capital did not respond to requests for comment.

It’s obviously for the rich. It’s got “amenities” They have to add something to make it worth thousands of dollars a month. There goes the neighborhood, folks. You won’t find a place to get your shoes repaired, but the trendy super markets with +32 kinds of olives will be on every corner. Trust fund babies gotta eat ya know.
This is the type of thing that will add more people to the 7 train but Jimmy, AOC and Mikey the Cat Whisperer won’t say anything about.

Yes, the 7 train has some problems and it’s crowded during rush hour (this is nothing new; when hasn’t it been this way and what other subway line doesn’t have problems and isn’t crowded during rush hour.) Anyone who thinks that real estate development on large vacant lots isn’t going to proceed as a result is incredibly naive. As a long-time resident of this area, I can say I’ve seen massive improvements in the neighborhood and also in our transit system. I’m frustrated at times that things aren’t better but I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, nor would I rather live on a different line than the #7.
Enjoy it while it lasts. You’ll get priced out too.
No matter who is in government the real estate industry runs this city. Nothing new here.
Guess they’re putting the promised public school in the second building? How many years away is that?

That is one long walk to the 7
In the morning you’ll face that uphill stretch.
But on the way home in the evening, it’s all downhill!
Yeah 6 Avenue blocks. Need a bike to get to the train
And then get your bike stolen

0.4 miles 10 minute walk
There’s a bus on the corner that goes over to Woodside & 61st Street. Of course it’s already packed in the rush hour. The developer doesn’t have to care though. Probably neither do the “residents” who can just Uber it.
