Feb. 5, 2019 Staff Report
A Sunnyside coffee shop that closed at the end of 2018 is expected to reopen soon.
Ave Coffee House, which has been located at 45-01 Greenpoint Ave. since 2012, was sold at the end of last year, and the new owner has shut down the location to revamp it.
The business is expected to reopen next month under a different name, according to the property owner.
Sunnyside has seen an influx of coffee shops in recent years, with Paris Baguette and Coffee Tossy opening in 2016 and Brookside Market in 2017. Café Bene came to Sunnyside in 2014.
Additionally, a Turkish coffee shop is in the process of opening at 44-01 Queens Blvd., the site formerly occupied by Yogurberry.

This was always empty, probably due to its terrible coffee and furniture. The owners should just take the hint
Due to its proximity to the evangelical church that was originally the Bliss Theatre, the renovated site will reportedly be called Ave Maria.
Bring the frozen yogurt back?

Yet none of them offer a decent bagel
Ave Coffee didn’t have a bathroom, which is why I didn’t go. What’s the point of going out for a cup (or two) of coffee if you can’t pee?!
Big deal I’ve never had a cup of coffee in my life.
Harrumph! Right Jim?!!!
